At some point it came out that TipperGore was on Prozac. Apparently, the news media made a big deal out of this revelation. Soon after, an issue of The Onion had one of those What Do You Think sections, asking "How do you feel about the news that Tipper Gore is on anti-depressants?" To which one of the responses was, "Well, now I know where the phrase 'bat-shit insane as the Vice-President's wife comes from."

A meme was born. Try to work it into everyday usage. There's a special place in Heaven for those who do.

You're kidding? I thought it was from Lynne Cheney, who really is fucking nuts. Among other things, she wrote a book where the VP's wife (who sounded a lot like Lynne Cheney) became President after the deaths of many, many people. -MeiRen
