Appearance: Old. Tired. At the end of its rope. This is how many describe the creature known as Karataka when they see it. A jackal of extended years, its fur is salt and pepper, marked by a lifetime of scars. Its eyes are pools of blackness that draw the viewer in, telling them of the tales of the desert. It walks slowly, determination marking its steps as much as the ache in its bones.

At least, that is what most say about Karataka. Those who see it in its true form rarely speak of it, for they are often no longer able to speak at all. When enraged (or ordered by his ward), the old jackal erupts into a monstrosity of flame and fury. Standing eight feet at the shoulder, it's claws cut through the finest armor as easily as a bonfire runs rapid through a dry field. It is said in the chaos of the Wyld that all who looked upon Karataka fell to their knees and begged for forgiveness. This stamements stands today, despite the waning of the behemoth's fire.

In case folks are curious, the name for this behemoth is the Sanskrit word for 'jackal'. - Caelene
