Back to Session 34

TonyC materializes out of thin air.

Monkey says, "Hello."

You say, "Heya!"

You say, "How's life?"

The Storyteller ponders the possibility of Fallout 3.

TonyC [to Apollonian]: Great. Got back from Anime Central yesterday.

Apollonian [to TonyC]: Keen! How was it?

TonyC [to Apollonian]: Awesome. Got to see the Pillows.

Apollonian [to TonyC]: Who are...

TonyC [to Apollonian]: Band that provides soundtrack for FLCL.

Apollonian [to TonyC]: Ah.

Apollonian [to TonyC]: Busy weekend for me... picked up a PS2 and took the GRE.

jetman has arrived.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Yo ho! )

The Storyteller waves to jetman

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( What's up? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( And I'm off on a trip to San Jose tomorrow until next Tuesday... I won't be back in time to game that night. )

You say, "not a lot. Gotta get coffee goin'. Then we can weigh anchor."

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Great! )

Monkey . o O ( Reschedule or cancel? )

TonyC [to Apollonian]: Next week. Reschedule or cancel?

TonyC [to jetman]: Got your stories ready?

jetman [to TonyC]: The Admiral's... not yet.

TonyC [to jetman]: Eh. Worst come to worst, just rely on your dice pool.

The Storyteller . o O ( Back. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Probably cancel. I don't have any other times during the week when I can really game. )

jetman [to TonyC]: Oh, I have the basics of the story... the tale of the fall of Celeren

The Storyteller . o O ( So, as I said a few minutes ago... I just picked up a PS2. I've got GTA: San Andreas and Katamari Damacy. Any games you'd reccomend? )

TonyC [to jetman]: Well, let's see how good your skill at impromptu story-telling is.

TonyC [to Apollonian]: Tell me games you like on PS1.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Perhaps we should begin with Suda and Akbar having had their turns? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( RPG-wise, Xenosaga I and II for certain, and FF X and X2. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Er... it's been a long time since I had a PS2... 'bout all I remember is Grand Turismo and Soul Blade, both of which were lots of fun. )

Monkey . o O ( Point. They are NPCs. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Good idea -- let's roll for them, though. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Defnitely. )

You rolled 14 dice on Raksha entertainer and got 4 successes.

You rolled 14 dice on Raksha entertainer and got 9 successes.

Monkey . o O ( PS2 games. GT4 comes to mind. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( And if anyone needs a strain on their sanity, here's a music video to Shatner's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds! (link deleted for wiki) )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( BTW, what's the roll? Perform plus...? )

The Storyteller . o O ( heh. I got a friend of mine the 1968 Shatner recording. It's great. )

The Storyteller . o O ( roll is Charisma + Perform )

Monkey . o O ( And I second the FF X. FF X-2 on the other hand, requires a quirky mind set to appreciate. :) )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Akbar relates this tale... http://makeashorterlink.com/?W17A6581B )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( And uses willpower to channel his temperence. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 6 dice on Akbar Cha+no Perform and got 2 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( But X-2 is loaded with fan-service! And no guy characters! :) )

Monkey . o O ( Amen. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Well, given that they're both in the $20 range now, IIRC, I'll probably end up getting them both. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Let us know! )

Monkey . o O ( For bash-em-up games, Dynasty Warriors series got good reviews, although many says that DW3 is better than DW4. )

The Storyteller . o O ( As and when. I've got to finish Wind Waker and Paper Mario, first. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Did you want to roll for Suda? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( One sec, I'll look her up. )

TonyC [to jetman]: Roll it. Add relevant Virtue.

jetman [to Apollonian]: Maybe you should, as she's not in Known NPCs and I don't want to peek elsewhere.

The Storyteller . o O ( Okay. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Don't want to spoil the mystery! :) )

The Storyteller grumbles.

The Storyteller . o O ( Sidereal Charms are _weird_. )

You rolled 12 dice on Suda storytelling and got 7 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Isn't that the point? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Okay, posing. )

Akbar tells his tale, one of many he has heard in his travels, competently, but he is not inspiring. The Raksha entertainer follows the tale of the rabbit sowing money with an old, old story of a greedy man who sold his daughter into prostitution for a false dream. It is tragic, but not as beautiful as it ought to be...

Then Suda stands, and in slow and measured chant tells a tale of Heaven, of how one of the Fair Folk entered Yu Shan and courted the Maiden of Serenity until his heart broke from her beauty and skill, and of how she then made of his bones and flesh a pavilion of love where she took all her lovers from outside Creation in the ages to come. Her tale is eerie and beautiful and bawdy, and the Lion of Near roars with delight at its conclusion. Stung by the Chosen of Secrets' skill, the raksha entertainer puts forth her greatest effort yet. Her tale is one great passion, as she recounts how the Scarlet Empress once took a lover from the common folk of the Realm, and how their love grew until, frightened by the fire that burned within herself, the Empress sacrificed her lover to the Dragons that she might remain pure and imperial. Her execution of the tale is flawless, and even the Exalted are moved by the sorrow and fear of the Empress in the raksha's song.

Monkey . o O ( And now.... <drumroll> The finale! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( What about the other storyteller's response? )

Monkey . o O ( Err, you better read the pose again. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Whoops. )

The Storyteller is getting coffee. BRB.

Admiral Kaizoku stands once the last tale has concluded. "Many tales of yore have been spun, all impressive. I humbly offer one of a more recent vintage... The anger of the Sun and the fall of his children is well known. Now, new tales are being written of return of the Solars, perhaps chastised but certainly challenged by the new world, in an age full of sorrows. One such commanded great fleets in the past, but was only commanding one, with a stalwart companion who bound himself into service after an epic duel.

Admiral Kaizoku says, "Many and varied were their adventures, but one stands out, one that heralds tidings both great and ill for Creation and beyond. Travelling to the coast from deep inside the Scavenger Lands, the Captain, for that is how the Solar sailed Creation then, came across a city that was dying, and surrounded by the dead."

Admiral Kaizoku says, "For the dead had risen to make war on the living... not mere shambling zombies or unquiet ghosts, but the spawn of the Underworld themselves, lead by dark Exalted who are the shadows of the bright Solars. The living pain them and life is an anathema, it seems, for they make savage war on all mortals and all living things."

Admiral Kaizoku says, "That war had come to the port city of Celeren... it was valiantly defended by the last bastion of the Shogunate, but the power and arts of not one but two Lords of Death and their Knights were too much even for their courage and strength of arms. It was into this that the Captain arrived. He had been determined to bring down those who pulled down the Solars in the First Age, that purpose burning inside him like the Sun itself... but seeing the ruin made of the city and its people kindled a new spark in him. 'Life is more important than the settling of a score... a transgressor may learn a new path, but the dead can do nothing but rot in place' he realized."

Monkey nods.

Admiral Kaizoku begins to walk as he talks. "The Captain sought out the warlord defending the city, but no sooner than he arrived, one of the foul Deathknights launched a craven attack. The Captain and his loyal man, burning with the power of the Dawn, battled the would-be killer, who sought to escape... a great, dead bird was summoned, and a savage battle was fought on its back... The Captain slew the bird and they all tumbled toward the unyeilding Earth... but through a clever trick, he summoned the very winds to land safely. Yet he was not happy at his victory, but angered at the outrage!

Monkey looks forward to the next part.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( One sec, phone )

Admiral Kaizoku made broad, swooping gestures with his hands to show the fight in the air, then balls his fists. "The Captain took up the body of the undead assassin and strode to the battle line of the army of the dead. In the face of their metal giants and war ghosts and corrupt me, he held up the body of one of their leaders. The power of the Sun burned the body away to nothing as if it had never been. He challenged the men who lay down with the dead in that army... yet they were held in bondage by their cruel taskmasters. The general of the army and a great host attacked the Captain then!"

TonyC [to Apollonian]: You got your story done too?

Apollonian [to TonyC]: Uh, yeah. Of course!

The Storyteller goes back to wracking his brain.

Admiral Kaizoku says, "With a cold fury, the terrible general rode a great horse down on the Captain and the few men with him. So great was the walking dead man's rage and arrogance that he did understand why the Captain retreated before him! For the Captain had moved back behind the wards to keep the dead at bay, leaving the general alone, while the Captain and his friend and the soldiers had their ranks expand! They turned on the general, unhorsing him and beating him savagely... now the general turned tail and ran. Yet that was not the only unmanning the Children of the Sun would do him that day!""

Admiral Kaizoku says, "Later that night, the clever, stalwart companion leaped towards the enemy camp, in a warstrider that let him jump higher than he ever had before, over the heads of the uncaring dead. There he found a shiny treasure that had caught his eye before... the royal warstrider of the General. Not believing what they saw, the army of the dead just stood and watched as the warstrider was picked up and carried off! Yet still the Captain was not satisfied... the dead spread terrible wings across the sky as well!"

Admiral Kaizoku says, "Even the mercy of letting the innocent leave the city was beyond the Deathlords... a voice raised in song or an animal at play offended them as much as a knight trying to stop their crusade of doom. The skies were black with more great undead birds, yet beyond even that was a great and terrible skyship, powered by the foulest means imaginable, made from black metal of imprisoned souls! The sight of it offended the Captain, and he laid a clever trap... yet a simple one, as it preyed on the same arrogance of power the general displayed!"

Admiral Kaizoku says, "He dangled bait before them once more... calling for a skyship of the Legion to appear, knowing they would try to bring it down as they had so many others. It appered quickly, faster than expected... but the Captain had moved fast too. The God of the city and a First Age wonder conveyed the Captain and his man to the sky. They leaped onto the ship and boarded it, fighting their way to the bridge! The captain of that ship was craven, and abandoned his post to launch a sneak attack on the Captain!"

Monkey . o O ( heh )

Admiral Kaizoku says, "After that sneak attack, the Deathknight leaped from the shattered bridge to fly away, leaving summoned demons to fight in his stead. The Captain seized the controls in the terrible struggle! Back and forth the battle went, with the ship plunging to the ground. At the last second possible, the Captain pulled it up, scraping the bottom away as it came to a stop... the terrible ship was no more! He pulled tools and weapons from the hulk to turn on their masters... but still it was not enough!"

Admiral Kaizoku says, "A powerful sorcerer was still in the enemy camp, and terrible spells had been woven to destroy other cities in the war of the dead on the living... the Captain knew that the remaining citizens would be vulnerable to such things as they organized their flight away from the doomed city. He planned a great ritual using his own sorcery to destroy that death-loving mage! He drew a huge circle on the ground and prepared himself. The evil mage could not allow this and came forth with a host of his own, great walking skeletons that shot their own bones!"

The Storyteller . o O ( The Admiral is rather fond of exclamation marks... )

Admiral Kaizoku says, "The mage's presence in the circle made the ritual impossible to complete! Yet it had always been impossible! Once more, the Captain knew the dead would attack a tempting target, and once more he was correct! Instead of a spell, he held his blade high and attacked once the mage had spent his power dispelling the false ritual! His companion, valiant soldiers and mystically armored knights sprung out and the battle was joined! The Captain's brave companion gave the death-worshipping mage what he most desired... a burial deep in the earth! He grappled with the mage and leaped high in the air, then threw him down, imbedding his body in the ground!"

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( If it's good enough for Stan Lee... :) )

The Storyteller . o O ( As long as you don't spouting "valhallese" )

Monkey . o O ( Fortunately for you guys, my Thor reading days were far gone. )

-- Storyteller Disconnect --

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( ARRGH! )

The Storyteller . o O ( Fooey. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I just wrapped... what was the last one you saw? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Last I saw was monkey talking about The Mighty Thor! )

Admiral Kaizoku says, "By now, the forces of the dead were in disarray, cheering the living... though the worst was yet to come. None could stand before the hulking undead giant of the Deathlord that was rapidly approaching! Within days, the entire population would have to flee to the sea and the now-open skies... The Captain knew that this would draw the worst attack yet, with so many helpless innocents together. He found a hidden island full of ships crewed by the walking dead, mixing up horrific eternal flames to douse the evacuation ships with. It was a base, cunning plan... so the Captain used it first! Calling on the power of the winds as his companion leaped from ship to ship, they gathered up barrels of the flame and burned the dead ships down to the waterline!"

Admiral Kaizoku takes a breath. "And so, the city of Celeren fell, but its people did not. A kind gesture by the companion even had the god of the city survive, planted safely away. This outraged the Deathlord of the Mask of Winters, who found new and terrible magics to unleash on Creation, making the living land dead and covered in shadow in ever greater areas. The Captain opposes him in every way he can, but that chapter of the story is as yet unwritten."

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Just those. )

The Storyteller . o O ( That's it? Three die stunt, and roll it. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( It? You want more? :) )

The Storyteller . o O ( :P )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Spending WIllpower to channel his conviction that this is an important tale. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 13 dice on Story Time! and got 4 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oh, god... I knew it. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Hm. This competition is attracting unusually low rolls. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I'll bet the dragon has a First Age TV that's deadening storytelling skills... )

The Raksha lord shifts upon his hoard and says, "An intriguing tale, Admiral, but tales about one's self are often... dreary..."

The Storyteller . o O ( Give me a ping when you finish reading each chunk. )

The Raksha entertainer stands for the final time, plucks a single note on her instrument, and begins her last tale. "Just recently, as we measure time, three sisters set out from their freehold in the East. They were beautiful as roses, their flame-red hair the petals and their gossamer blades the thorns, and so the common folk of the East named them: The Three Roses. The most beautiful was Silent Rose, who was skilled in all the arts of hand-to-hand combat. Her gossamer blade was named Thorn of Lost Songs, and she never spoke. The most cunning was Graceful Rose, in the art of the bow unparalleled and in the ways of deception unmatched. Her bow was named Seed of Failed Stratagems, and her arrows flew true no matter how crooked their path. The most cruel was Fierce Rose, a mistress of beasts and all creatures of sad clay, who could ride a spavined nag through the greatest storms of the Wyld. She carried always a gossamer bridle named Yoke of Free Souls, and could ride anything."

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( As an important roll, it'd have to be low. Well, looks like we'll have to go with plan B. )

Monkey . o O ( ping )

The Storyteller . o O ( Admiral, you done reading? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oh, yes. )

Having introduced the three protagonists, the entertainer elaborates on the tale. "Due to Fierce Rose's impetuousness, the three sisters found their freehold inconvenient, and decided to make a pilgramage of the surrounding lands in honor of the Church of Balor, that they might see the cyst of Creation and the necessity of its cleansing. So said Graceful Rose. Due to Silent Rose's appetites, the three sisters found the freehold limiting, and so decided to travel the forest seeking out bright dreams and young dreamers to play with. So said Fierce Rose. Silent Rose said nothing, but in graceful pantomime indicated that, due to Graceful Rose's machinations, they found the freehold monotonous, and so travelled to a wooded land where intriguing foes might dwell. However it happened, the three sisters gathered their few belongings and entered the vast cancer of Creation."

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping. So, a political story, is it? )

She continues, with a flourish of music: "The long and dusty road passed quickly, and the three sisters found few foes worthy of their attention upon it. In their journey, they slew but one, a god of the road who challenged their passage, and by journey's end they were very hungry. It was fortunate, then, that their journey ended at a walled city where the Solar Exalted who ruled it were holding a tournament of martial character. Before approaching the walls, the three sisters turned to each other. "Is my bow sufficiently treacherous?" asked Graceful Rose. "Is my bridle cruel enough?" asked Fierce Rose. Silent Rose said nothing, but in swift motion drew the Thorn of Lost Voices and executed the Seven Devils of Order Form, which poses the ancient question: Is the blade the reflection of the wielder, or the wielder of the blade? The three Roses looked at each other and in their hearts said "Yes." And so they entered the city of White Pines.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping. )

Monkey . o O ( pong )

"Though the rulers of the city were rumored to be mighty, as all Chosen of the Sun are by reputation, the three sisters saw no evidence of this, but they cared not. The city was aflame with the passion of the competition, and the sisters were greatly pleased. Such was meat and drink! Such was joy and fire! Such was passion! And so the sisters gladly entered the tournament, though the prize was meager, for the foes were mighty. The tournament was in fact three competitions: Melee, archery, and riding, all prefaced by a grand melee.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping. Hmmm... maybe that would be a better plan than just stabbing the place up. )

Monkey . o O ( Dude, you so have to run this very story for your Sat game. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Already did, quite a while back. ) Monkey . o O ( Remember. Cross-overs sell. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Sadly, my GMing skills are much better online than in person... )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Excelsior! )

Fierce Rose went out into the plains surrounding the forest one night, and from the herds the nomads kept captured the greatest of their horses, binding it with the Yoke of Free Souls and breaking it to her will between the space of the sun's setting and the sun's rising. That same night, Graceful Rose went out into the forest and broke from the trees the most twisted branches, singing to them until they were straight and cunning arrows, their fletching of leaves and their heads of pale heartwood. Under the moonlight that shone on her sisters, Silent Rose danced along the walls of the city, ensnaring the hearts of the guardsmen for a single night with the flash of her blade and the pale flesh of body. Upon the sunrise, the tournament began.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping )

The Grand Melee was the first day, and in it the sisters took the measure of their fellow competitors. The mortals were easily dismissed with a flick of the wrist, but the Exalted were another matter. Nearly a score of the DragonBlooded competited, and though some were not warriors, some were very great indeed. At the last, though, all but the sisters and a rough-hewn man of the East were standing. The Easterner's spear was swift as moonlight and pale as silver, and he himself was of startling fury and quicksilver grace. The sisters espied upon his shoulders and arms tattoos of silver, and on his brow an occasional flash like the moon behind a cloud, and murmured to each other, "Here is a foe of whom even we must be wary." At that moment, the golden lady who was the public face of the city's Solar rulers called the melee to a halt, and declared the day's competition over.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping )

Monkey . o O ( pong )

The Storyteller . o O ( Okay, now I'm typing directly, so it'll take a bit longer. )

Monkey . o O ( Dude, David, I think your story's gonna get smoked. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I was hoping the novelty value of it being true and current would carry the day. )

Monkey . o O ( Can't be helped though. Three hot chicks trump two sweaty guys. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Should have played up how pretty Monkey is... pander to the audience. )

Monkey . o O ( Unfortunately, while I can appreciate the artistic value in yaoi, I don't think Jesse has sufficient educational background. )

Monkey . o O ( He needs to read more shoujo manga first. )

The next morning, the individual competitions began in earnest. Fierce Rose found her steed most swift, and outpaced all her opponents in the fashion of a falcon among crows. Graceful Rose's arrows flew true from bow to the target, though the ancient DragonBlooded archer came near to besting her with his perfect knowledge of the bow. Alas, Silent Rose was bested, for the silver-speared warrior entered the melee competition, and though the Thorn of Lost Voices was swift as starlight and changeable as the wave, the moonsilver spear was soft as moonlight and more cunning than the spiders of the forest, and countered her every move with untouchable grace. Watching the contest, Graceful Rose and Fierce Rose grew envious, for their sister drank deeply of her opponent's passion even as he bested her at every blow. And then it was all but over -- and the lords of the city stood forth to challenge the champions.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping. And if he wins the contest, he's going to want to keep Monkey and turn him into a statue. )

Monkey . o O ( But he'll miss all the really good stuff that way. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Which is where plan B will come in. )

Monkey . o O ( Don't tell me. Kaizoku will try seducing the Lion? )

The chosen of the Sun who came forward were both of the Dawn Caste, and their renown was as yet small, for they had not truly come into their power. One was a mercenary of the North, rough and tall, wielding a daiklave of orichalcum. He stood forth against the moonsilver warrior, and displayed the power of the Sun, for he bested the Lunar in the space of a few heartbeats, the golden light of the sun shining from his brow as he matched the Lunar blow for blow and then lightly touched the tip of his blade to the Easterner's chest.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oooh, I don't think that's terribly likely. No, with a dragon and a horde and some guys with melee weapons, nature has to take its course. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( And pong. )

Monkey . o O ( Horde? Oh, you mean hoard. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Or both. )

Monkey . o O ( Ah, man. I'd rather not. I like having 11 WP. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( What's it for, if not to burn at times like this? )

Monkey . o O ( Well, let's see what happen. We might get lucky after all. )

Watching, the sisters thought to themselves, "Here is a foe of whom stories might be told. Worthy would be his enemies." Then the other Sword of Heaven came forward, bow in hand. He was arrogant and boastful, a young noble of the East with the confidence of a thousand men -- confidence that was earned. Though Graceful Rose's arrows were as cunning and treacherous as ever, the leaves of their flight withered in the blazing fury of his arrows' flight, and by the final trial he had outmatched her, for his bow could touch the farthest target while hers were a handspan off. Watching, Silent Rose took note of the Solar's graceful touch on the bowstring, while Fierce Rose saw her sister's embarrassment and smiled inside. Then the Solar slung his bow on his back and, from a line of pack horses, took a horse and mounted it in a single swift motion. "Come," he challenged Fierce Rose, "Let us see who is the swifter!" She made no answer, but sprang upon her own steed and spurred it into the forest, leaving him in the dust of her passing. He did not stay there: by the middle of the track, he had come upon her and they rode neck and neck. Glancing at him, she noted the skill with which he mastered his mount, by the barest touch guiding it through the treacherous forest. At last the finish line came into sight, and with a simple kick of his heels, the Solar spurred his mount ahead, defeating Fierce Rose at the last.

Monkey . o O ( What? I want to see those Solar Ride charms. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping. And we're behind score-wise. )

Monkey . o O ( I think someone's cheating. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Maybe the clever Solars invented their own charms! )

After all was done, then, the Solar rulers set out a great feast and crowned the winners with glory. The boastful warrior had private words with the Lunar, who vanished into the forest after the feast, while the Three Roses watched through heavily-lidded eyes, sated well upon the celebrants. In the dusk, Silent Rose departed from her sisters' side, and returned at midnight. Upon her return, Fierce Rose slipped away from their gossamer pavilion, and did not return until dawn. That night, Graceful Rose thought and pondered, and finally schemed. As the sisters departed the city, she said, "Let us return here in a year and a day, sisters. Perhaps there will be more tales worth telling, and more foes worth cultivating." And so they continued upon their journey, knowing that even in defeat, they had gained -- for what is a hero measured by if not by her enemies and lovers?

With the last words, the bard stills her instrument and vanishes back into the rear regions of the great hall.

You rolled 15 dice on entertainer story and got 9 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Great. )

The Storyteller . o O ( You like the tale? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oh, yes, very well done! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I was also being dejected about the nature of the rolls though. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Good, then I don't feel so bad about granting her a 3-die stunt. )

The Storyteller . o O ( posing )

The Lion of Near uncoils slowly, rising to a great height above the heroes. "Aha," he rumbles, "It seems to me that the tales you bring me are but poor fare compared to that offered by my own hall, and so I declare you the vanquished..."

Monkey says, "Bah, I did not lose to your storyteller."

Admiral Kaizoku says, "Indeed... while your storyteller's tales are well-told, are they fresh to your ears?"

Monkey . o O ( Pure bad luck on her roll, but true nonetheless. )

He begins to move forward languidly, his body undulating like a serpent's in a hypnotic motion. "Indeed, I consider you so badly defeated... that I must, in all honesty, consider each of you forfeit and subject to my touch." He chuckles. "Do not think of it as loss! Think, rather, that you will serve a greater purpose adorning my halls, for you are clearly not the heroes you wish to be, and it is better that you serve me than yourselves..."

Admiral Kaizoku says firmly "Hold, O dragon. Would you waste an opportunity to gain so much for a handful of baubles?"

Monkey folds his arms and repeats, "I did not lose."

Admiral Kaizoku nudges Monkey with his elbow.

Monkey does not respond to the nudge, but neither does he try to provoke the Lion of Near. Yet.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oh oh )

Monkey . o O ( oh oh what? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( It's either a long pose or a disconnect. )

Monkey . o O ( PS: switching comp. Don't be alarmed. )

The Lion of Near bares his teeth in the smile of a sandstorm. "Did you not understand the final tale, Admiral? 'Tis not the baubles, but the tale of getting them that is worth having... and by your tales, you are worthy of having and taking."

The Storyteller . o O ( brb, bathroom. )

TonyC has reconnected.

Monkey says, "Hah!"

Monkey says, "I declare this competition rigged. My story is just as good as hers, yet you declare that I lose."

Admiral Kaizoku inclines his head and smiles thinly in reply. "Then you do not wish to hear more tales? To find out the next chapter in my own? You are content to sit and imagine rather than know? Your storyteller is quite the rose herself... think of the tales she could return with by accompanying my party."

Monkey was going to say something, but decides to give The Lion of Near one more chance to hear Kaizoku's voice of reason.

The Storyteller . o O ( back. )

The Lion says, "My dear Admiral, your story is clearly not as important as mine. You, after all, are but clay, even if you are imbued with the power of a god. I, on the other hand, am the potential of the Wyld made corporeal! Now, do put up an interesting fight, or I'll be terribly disappointed."

Admiral Kaizoku draws his gleaming blade, metal scraping on the clip that holds it beneath his coat. "To the death seems such a waste..." he remarks, getting some distance from Monkey.

The Lion strikes! His form is as the leading edge of a sandstorm as he feints with his jaws before striking with his tail, flicking a wave of treasure at the heroes.

The Storyteller . o O ( and we fight! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Roll for init? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Aye! )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 1d10+14 and got 20.

Monkey says, "Sheathe your sword, Admiral! I'll take care of this overgrown newt with delusions of grandeur."

The Storyteller . o O ( methinks Akbar's going to do the sensible thing and stay out of the way, ya? )

Monkey rolled 1d10+8 and got 17.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oh, yes. He knows his job, and this isn't it. )

TonyC [to Apollonian]: Boy, you sound like Wakka just now. Go get FF-X.

Apollonian [to TonyC]: Oh, twist my arm, why don't you?

jetman [to Apollonian]: Plus you can see what the Admiral's sword looks like! :)

roll 1d10+9 Lion init

On 1d10, you rolled 6.

The Storyteller . o O ( roll 1d10+9 )

The Storyteller . o O ( dammit! )

On 1d10+9, you rolled 16.

The Storyteller . o O ( there! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( The storyteller is also fading to the background, I presume? )

On 1d10+16, you rolled 19.

The Storyteller . o O ( She left at the conclusion of her last tale. )

The Storyteller . o O ( okey-dokey. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Admiral first? )

Round 1: Kaizoku, Suda, Monkey, Lion of Near. The Lion is just coming down off of his treasure hoard, while you three are grouped fairly close to each other between the hoard and the front door.

The Storyteller . o O ( Kaizoku, go. )

Monkey . o O ( If anybody attacks me, don't roll just yet. Monkey Style Kung-Fu can reduce dice in some circumstances. )

Monkey . o O ( And Masook? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( He's fairly far back. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Not in the room anymore. You didn't see him leave, but you can't see him now. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Her. Can't see her now. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Ugh. Getting mixed up. )

Monkey . o O ( Masook is the warrior. I think it's a he. Door-Warden, whose names is Avi-something, is female. )

Admiral Kaizoku moves a handful of yards to the left, apart from Monkey and Suda. His expression is grim, and the time for talk has passed. He lashes out with a flurry of extended blows at the Lion's twitching tail, putting his blade out in front of any move or strike he makes with it.

The Storyteller . o O ( Masook is not, and never was, present in the great hall. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Multiple attack, 3 actions, 3 cuts. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Stunt? )

The Storyteller . o O ( 2 dice )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 15 dice on slash 1 and got 9 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 14 dice on slash 2 and got 8 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 13 dice on slash 3 and got 6 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( Nice! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( If I'd rolled this well tale-telling, we'd have avoided the fight )

The Storyteller . o O ( And how much fun would that be? )

Monkey . o O ( You don't have nearly that big a dice pool. )

Monkey . o O ( For the story telling, that is. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I guess it's just a violent, blood-soaked destiny for Kaizoku. It was 13 for the tale, BTW. )

Monkey . o O ( And since it's an important roll..... )

You rolled 9 dice on Full Dodge 1 and got 3 successes.

You rolled 8 dice on Full Dodge 2 and got 3 successes.

You rolled 7 dice on Full Dodge 3 and got 7 successes.

Monkey . o O ( Suggest: Principle of motion. Parry. )

The serpentine raksha coils in midair around the Solar's flashing blade, failing to avoid the first two strikes but successfully slipping past the third.

The Storyteller . o O ( Damage? His soak is 14L. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 6 dice on strike 1 and got 3 hits.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 5 dice on strike 2 and got 2 hits.

The Storyteller . o O ( And... Suda... um... hang on a sec, gotta think about this one. )

Admiral Kaizoku moved his blade along with the constricting coils, biting deeply into the Lion's flesh despite the creature's best efforts to evade.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Hmm... If I did the big attack, it might have finished him. )

Monkey . o O ( Suggestion: Find the McGuffin. She knows Kaizoku and Monkey's prowess, besides, why reveal her strength when there is no need? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Indeed. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Ah, nice call. Thx. )

While the malevolent Lion of Near is occupied with the two Solars, Suda casts a fine mist of deception in front of her and dashes over to the far side of the hoard, sensing device in hand. Quickly, she begins to search for the piece of the puzzle that _must_ be here...

The Storyteller . o O ( And it's Monkey's turn. )

Monkey . o O ( Just a sec. Double-checking. )

Monkey . o O ( Nah, doesn't work. Standard FLB. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Say, in reference to yaoi: http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2005-04-11 )

Monkey is a little bit upset that Admiral Kaizoku chose to fight the best opponent around instead of leaving it for him. Fine, he can deal with The Lion. He's probably not worth the sweat anyways.

Monkey . o O ( Flow Like Blood kicks in though. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Okay. Roll init. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 1d10+14 and got 18.

Monkey rolled 1d10+8 and got 12.

On 1d10+9, you rolled 18.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( How are ties resolved again? )

The Storyteller . o O ( You'll go first. )

On 1d10+8, you rolled 9.

Round 2: Kaizoku, the Lion, Monkey, Suda.

Admiral Kaizoku says cooly "Do you find that interesting enough?" as he continues to drag his blade along the Lion's sleek body, then points it at the sky, light following the edge to the tip causing an audible gleam before he brings it down on the base of the Lion's tail, aiming to sever it from the rest of him!

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Three attacks once more. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Stunt? )

The Storyteller . o O ( 1 die )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 14 dice on Tail cut and got 9 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 13 dice on leading slash and got 6 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 12 dice on trailing slash and got 5 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( Hm. Okay... )

You rolled 15 dice on Principle of Motion Parry 1 and got 5 successes.

You rolled 15 dice on Principle of Motion Parry 2 and got 11 successes.

You rolled 15 dice on Principle of Motion Parry 3 and got 5 successes.

In a sudden blur, the Lion of Near coils in on the Admiral's blade, his talons reaching out to intercept it. He's too slow to stop the first blow entirely, but catches the next two in a shower of golden sparks.

The Storyteller . o O ( damage? Soak 14L. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Ping damage. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 4 dice on something and got 2 hits.

Admiral Kaizoku'

Admiral Kaizoku's sword takes a solid chunk out of the Lion's tail, smashing through his golden scales to draw blood.

Monkey . o O ( Hmmmm. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( He must be doing something big. At least he probably has some wound penalties now. )

The Lion roars in pain and rockets upwards in a bleeding yellow spiral. The wind of his passing batters you and you smell a hint of the desert in it. Circling above, he latches onto the ceiling of the great hall and stares down at the admiral with his great golden eyes. "Interesting indeed, Admiral. You are a worthy foe. But can you face the sandstorm?" Then he opens his mouth and the gale is unleashed, hissing sand from between his jaws.

You rolled 14 dice on breath of the storm and got 5 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Is this parryable by DSD? One more adventure and I'd have had Bulwark Stance... )

The Storyteller . o O ( Unparryable. Also, it's attacking everyone in the hall except for Akbar, who is conveniently hidden behind a pillar. )

You rolled 12 dice on Suda Dodges and got 9 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Though inconvenient for the rest of us... and having acted, no dodge for the Admiral, right? )

The Storyteller . o O ( correct )

The Storyteller . o O ( Monkey, dodge? )

Monkey rolled 13 dice on FLB Dodge and got 2 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( You want to use the perfect dodge? damage is 24L. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( That's not good. )

Monkey . o O ( Drats. )

Monkey . o O ( Let me check the actual text of my Limit Break. )

Monkey . o O ( Okay, nothing in the limit break says I shouldn't. )

Monkey . o O ( May I take back the roll and use 7 Shadow Evasion then? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Soitenly. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Go ahead and pose it. )

Monkey braces himself for impact as The Lion of Near unleashes the sandstorm. As the sandstorm rages, he takes a step forward, and then another. Although Admiral Kaizoku was thrown by the force of the sandstorm, it seems to passes Monkey by harmlessly.

You rolled 19 dice on Sandstorm damage and got 10 successes.

Monkey . o O ( I looked at both Kaizoku and Monkey's character sheet and can't figure out a way to save us both. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( That's after soak? Then I'm incapacitated. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Ooh... I just had a _wonderful_ idea.... )

Monkey . o O ( Well, use it! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Oh, I'll bet I know what that is. )

Monkey . o O ( Suda? Suda isn't there. )

Monkey . o O ( She's behind the pillar. She's been behind the pillar since when the fight started.. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Nope, something else... his touch is his breath weapon, so the Admiral's glass or something now. )

Monkey . o O ( Nah. That kind of stuff you always get a roll to resist. At least until you actually die. )

The sand cuts through the Admiral's armor like a thousand knives through the filaments of his soul. His eyes are first to go, hollowed out in an instant with the breath of the ancient wild desert. The Admiral screams in agony, and the sand flows into his lungs, filling them as wine fills a goblet. In the pain and the darkness, the Admiral feels his flesh being stripped away from his bones, his mind falling into the oblivion of the sandstorm -- and then he feels it. A familiar sensation, the feeling of sand underfoot, and he is in the past, the ancient, distant age where all was right with the world and everything was in its place...

Monkey . o O ( Oooo, kinda Final Fantasy-like. )

He opens his eyes, and the green tint of the desert spread out before him tells him everything he needs to know. He is one of the Princes of the Earth, and a sorcerer almost without peer among the Solar Deliberative. He has lived for a thousand years and he is growing restless with mortal concerns. He has whiled away the last century upon the seas of Creation, hunting the Lintha and the heretic cults of the West as one of the Deliberative's greatest admirals, but even that has begun to pall. There is... no challenge.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Though there's usally a comment, but that's swallowed up by the noise. )

So now he draws forth his power, his birthright, and he wanders beyond the borders of Creation... seeking new foes, new challenges. In a drifting Lintha hulk, he found a tale of the desert beyond Creation, the Yozi Cecelyne who dwells imprisoned within her brother Malfeas, and he cast his thoughts back to the first days, when he fought in the final battles of the Primordial War. He remembers inspiring the DragonBlooded infantry in an assault on the Primordial that became Cecelyne, and smiles at the memory of the victories they had against her souls.

Monkey . o O ( Heh heh heh. This ought to be good. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Depending on how you mean 'good' )

Monkey . o O ( It's interesting and it's not happening to me. Hence, good. )

Monkey . o O ( ping )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Could be a long pose, as this is spontaneous )

And in the now that is not now, he lays chains of sorcery upon a soul of Cecelyne, upon Orabilis, the End of All Wisdom. He sits upon a throne of chalcedony, in his manse on the southern shores of the Blessed Isle, and bids Orabilis speak. And Orabilis speaks, and from his words rises a library of green glass in the Admiral's Demesne, hidden by cunning art from the eyes of his fellow Chosen. And with mighty arts, he seals the demon's lips, that Orabilis may never speak of this until an age has passed. And Orabilis yields to the might of the Golden Bull and vanishes in the sand of his mistress. And the priest of the sun wanders through his library, treading upon glass and sand, brushing the lore of Orabilis' choosing with his fingertips. Idly, he takes a book down and skims through it, glancing over the careful drawing of a single flower to be found in the far wastes of the North. He gazes long at a scroll which tells of the Seventh War of Imprisoned Passions, which took place between the Dragon Kings and a race now forgotten in the days when the Primordials were as yet unbetrayed. And in the heart of the glass library, he devours the lore of sorcery that is in itself a challenge he has yet to surpass.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Hmmm... worse than I thought. )

Monkey . o O ( What do you mean? It's better than I thought! <grin> )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( If some Old One Primordial servitor race gets loose and the modern Admiral has to clean up his old mess with a fraction of his power... )

Monkey . o O ( As you, or rather, the old you complained, "There is... no challenge." )

-- Storyteller Disconnect --

The Storyteller . o O ( Dammit. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Hrr. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Did I miss anything? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Did you lose anything? )

Monkey . o O ( You missed nothing. We were kibitzing. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( What did you last see? )

And it is the now, and Admiral Kaizoku is himself, and he remembers the words of a spell of awesome power, and it spills unbidden from his lips though they are clogged with sand and blood. Though blind, he sees the Lion of Near recoil in absolute terror, and he feels his arms move in the motions of a spell that, though apparently simple, is so primal that all who look on it despair. A black and purple beam springs from his hands and reaches out through the howl of the sandstorm, striking the raksha square in the torso. The afterimage of the spell is laced with a sickly acidic green, and the Admiral feels a knot in his stomach as he collapses, unconscious on the hoard.

Monkey . o O ( Ah yes. Did you know that Demons can teach you sorcery? )

Through the sandstorm, Monkey sees the Admiral caught in the full power of the raksha's breath, sees him stagger back, and then raise his hands and chant. Then the beam of essence lances out and strikes the raksha and the Admiral collapses.

The Storyteller . o O ( Monkey's turn. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( So I've heard. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Oh, and Admiral: You're flat out of Willpower. )

Monkey says, "Suda! Take care of Admiral!"

Monkey says, "You!"

Over the quickly dying moan of the sandstorm, Suda shouts, "Yes! Distract the Raksha -- I've found it!"

Monkey says, "As Heaven and Creation witness, I shall tear you apart with my bare hands."

Monkey rushes The Lion of Near and tries to wring him by the neck, a feat made somewhat difficult by The Lion's ability to fly.

Monkey . o O ( Clinch attack. One action. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Okay! )

Monkey . o O ( WP for autosuccess. )

Monkey rolled 10 dice on Clinch. and got 8 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( He does not defend, being a little distracted by something nasty inside. )

The Storyteller . o O ( So, you have him clinched! )

The Storyteller . o O ( We can skip init for the rest of the combat, I think... Kaizoku's out of it, Suda isn't fighting, and you and the Lion go on the same count as long as you're clinching. )

Monkey . o O ( Just a sec. )

Monkey rolled 8 dice on Clinch damage and got 4 hits.

Monkey . o O ( Bashing, piercing. )

Monkey . o O ( Sorry, should've been 4 dice. )

Monkey rolled 4 dice on Clinch damage and got 1 hit.

Monkey . o O ( Next turn. )

The raksha writhes in Monkey's grasp, but Monkey holds on as if he were holding a lifeline in a hurricane. Beneath him, he can see a bruise forming on the raksha's flesh.

The Storyteller . o O ( go. )

Monkey does not try anything fancy. He simply squeezes harder and harder.

You rolled 3 dice on opposing clinch and got 1 success.

Monkey rolled 10 dice on Clinch and got 5 successes.

Monkey . o O ( Hmmm, ping. )

Monkey rolled 4 dice on Clinch damage and got 1 hit.

Monkey . o O ( Is he going to try anything fancy? )

The Lion's struggles grow more frantic and yet, weaker. He roars, but it is a feeble think, hardly more than a cough. In Monkey's ear he growls, "Weep for me, mighty one. My tale is all but ended, and it is an ending more terrible than anything you have ever known..." The bruises on his body are growing quickly, spreading out from small patches into strange patterns, patterns Monkey cannot read but which resemble characters in Old Realm...

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I'm going to guess not, since the Admiral used a Chestburster spell (probably) )

Monkey . o O ( I'm getting a Rune of Singular Hatred vibe, actually. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Nope. Admiral, if and when you learn Solar Circle Sorcery, you will also be able to cast the spell Essence Inversion (p. 141, S&S). Of course, there are some unknown strings attached... )

The Storyteller . o O ( Anyway. More clinching? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( This will get messy. )

Monkey does not deign to answer. He shifts his grip to hold The Lion's head. With a loud yell, he twists, as hard as he can.

Monkey . o O ( hmmmm, is revenge conviction or valor? )

Monkey . o O ( Anyway, spending WP to channel the appropriate virtue. )

The Storyteller . o O ( I'd say valor in this case. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( I could see it as either way... bravery for revenge against a superior foe... )

Monkey rolled 15 dice on Clinch and got 4 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( Heh. )

Monkey . o O ( Hey, the damage roll might be good. :p )

Monkey . o O ( His defense, if any? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Hah. )

The Storyteller . o O ( just roll damage. )

Monkey rolled 4 dice on Ping damage and got 2 hits.

Monkey . o O ( Ideally I should've used Strength Increasing Exercise first, but I can't justify Monkey spending the time to power up instead of jumping straight in. )

With a sound like tearing paper, the Lion's head twists off in Monkey's hands. Inside his body is... nothing. It is hollow, like a puppet, only there is a swirling pattern of black and purple on the inside of the paper that is his skin. The head dissolves into sand and Monkey realizes that he's rather high off of the ground at the moment with nothing to hang onto. As he falls, he sees dark shapes on the edge of his vision, creatures of shadow and horror, struggling to tear free of paper dragon before the bruises cover it entirely. As he hits the treasure hoard and rolls, he thinks -- perhaps -- that a clawed hand tears open the paper and something slips through, but at that moment the body of the Lion of Near vanishes with a small pop. And the room is silent.

Monkey . o O ( You know, between Kaizoku's daiklave and Essence Inversion, Monkey doesn't actually have to do anything. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( It'll be a long time before this spell gets cast again! )

The Storyteller . o O ( Assuming, of course, that Kaizoku _wants_ to cast a spell that he learned in some mysterious fashion from an Infernal source. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Not to mention, he has to raise Essence to 5 and get Solar Circle Sorcery to do it. )

Monkey . o O ( Trigger his limit break. It'll get done. )

Monkey picks himself up and looks for Kaizoku. Is he alright? Is someone taking care of him?

Suda is kneeling over the Admiral's supine form, and Akbar is digging himself out of sand off in one corner. Suda looks up at Monkey and says, "We'd better get out of here -- the Admiral is in very bad shape and I can't heal him here. And we don't know what's going to happen with the Raksha lord dead..."

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( This also raises the question of how to get out of the Wyld and back to the ship, given that it was a Stormwind trip in. )

The Storyteller . o O ( But hey! That's the excitement of the situation. )

The Storyteller . o O ( And I've got to get to bed... shall we knock off here? )

Monkey says, "In a moment, Suda."

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( SHouldn't there be a sandstorm outside? :) )

Monkey takes a few minutes to dress Kaizoku's wounds before picking him up and carrying him on his back. "Let's go."

The Storyteller . o O ( I am thinking we'll fast-forward a bit... )

The Storyteller . o O ( So as to get a move on with other bits of the search, yah? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( OK! )

Monkey . o O ( Okay. )

Monkey . o O ( Before you go to bed though, I demand XP. Which is great, since with Kaizoku KO-ed, now I have training time. :) )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Though that can happen as soon as we get back to the ship, with the cube there. )

Monkey . o O ( I'm thinking Boss got disconnected again. )

There is no sign of the other Fair Folk as the four of you flee the freehold. Indeed, the freehold itself is beginning to fray at the edges -- through gaps in the walls and ceiling you can see desert, or streamers of strangely-colored flame, or other things that flash by too quickly to really understand. Monkey's magically enhanced strength makes carrying the Admiral an easy task, which is useful when you need to jump over gaps in the bridge. By the time you hit the tunnel, you're at a dead run as the freehold collapses behind you, and you only stop at the mouth of the tunnel, which fades behind you until it is no mroe than a depression in the rock.

Suda rests briefly, checking the Admiral's dressings, while Akbar carefully portions out the jewels he gathered on the sly during your visit. Some have turned to sand, or flowers, and these he discards as he carefully inspects the others. He glances up at Monkey while he does so and says, "Always make a profit, eh?" After a few minutes, Suda stands up. "Gather 'round," she says, and she casts a spell. A glowing blue globe envelops you, and you rise into the air and fly out of the desert.

The journey is not so swift as one by Stormwind Rider, but it is swift enough, and by nightfall you are at the cove where you are to meet the Unconquered Sun. In due time, the ship arrives, and you set course away from the south, back to your secret harbor.

The Storyteller . o O ( Which is where we'll wrap up. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( OK. XP? )

Monkey grumbles. "I told him to leave him to me. But nooooo! Did he listen to me?"

Monkey says, "Serves him right."

The Storyteller . o O ( XP: 8 each. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( And one more for the 3 die stunt, or is that included? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Plus Kaizoku gets another for the 3 die stunt. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Now, healing time for the Admiral... )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Overnight, with some Sidereal magic (hope hope) )

The Storyteller . o O ( Afraid not. (Sidereal charms are weird, remember?) However, with the aid of Saji's Medicine Charms, namely Wound-Closing Touch, all your lethal damage is converted to bashing, which will take you 5 days of rest to heal. Unfortunately, you are still blind. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Oh, make a few conviction rolls, too. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( How many? )

Monkey . o O ( Put up logs, even uncleaned ones, as soon as it's convenient, Jesse. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 3 dice on conviction 1 and got 3 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( for the regaining of Willpower. Say, 5. One for each day of healing, which pretty much your entire crew insists you take. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 3 dice on conviction 2 and got no successes but no botches either.

The Storyteller . o O ( Will do, Tony. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 3 dice on conviction 3 and got 1 success.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 3 dice on conviction 4 and got 1 botch.

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 3 dice on conviction 5 and got 5 successes.

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Woo, got it all back! )

The Storyteller . o O ( Conviction is the Admiral's highest virtue, right? )

Monkey . o O ( With the breaks, I find I forget stuffs. )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Tied with Valor. )

Monkey . o O ( Hmmmm, Limit break? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Who, Monkey or the Admiral? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Lion of the Near was pretty unreasonable... )

Monkey . o O ( Admiral's. Lion's behavior.... )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( And as a plot point, does the Admiral or anyone by him know of greater healing magics to fix his eyes, or will that be a quest? )

The Storyteller . o O ( Hm. Actually... regarding potential limit break for the admiral. Yeah, roll Conviction to see if you add Limit. )

Monkey . o O ( It'll be a quest. We shall find The Eye of Autochton to replace your eyes. Forget Vecna. )

Monkey . o O ( Vecna's a wuss. )

Admiral Kaizoku rolled 3 dice on conviction and got 2 successes.

The Storyteller . o O ( Well, like a Prince of Amber, your eyes will regrow in time. Like, a couple of years. Say... two years. (6 years - stamina) Of course, the Admiral would probably like to find a solution before then. )

Monkey . o O ( Re: eyes. You can always summon a demon and have it fix your eyes. )

think But we'll leave that for next session. And I'll try to get the logs up tomorrow, clean or not.

The Storyteller . o O ( But we'll leave that for next session. And I'll try to get the logs up tomorrow, clean or not. )

TonyC enjoys being the voice of temptation.

The Storyteller . o O ( True! True! )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Tsk tsk! :) )

The Storyteller . o O ( I'll see you guys in two weeks, then, right? )

Admiral Kaizoku . o O ( Yep! )

Monkey . o O ( Yup. )

The Storyteller . o O ( Bye, then. )

On to Session 36
