Peace Amidst Strife Cost: 1 mote Type: Simple Duration: Instant Minimum Athletics: 3 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Monkey Leap
The Exalt imposes his will on the order of things, and for a fraction of a second, he simply stops. All momentum is drained from him, and he freezes in place, even if he is in the middle of a fall or hurtling over a cliffside. The effect is instantaneous, and forces will begin to act on him again immediately, but whatever momentum he initially had is lost. Although this charm can be used repeatedly to hover, three activations are required for each turn of hovering.
If a character uses this Charm while falling, falling distance is calculated from the point when the Charm was used. By activating it right before hitting the ground, a character can use it to effectively negate falling damage.
Normally, Peace Amidst Strife functions relative to Creation itself, but a character who is riding on or in something may instead choose to stop relative to his conveyance so that it does not ride out from under him.
Sky-Stepping Exercise Cost: 4 motes Type: Reflexive Duration: One scene Minimum Athletics: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Monkey Leap, Spider-Foot Style
A master of the Sky-Stepping Exercise can gain leverage on thin air, leaping off of an ephemeral platform of raw Essence. The Exalt can perform an "air jump", kicking off the air in a burst of light to make a second full leap in any direction. In addition to effectively doubling her jumping distance, this allows her to change direction in the midst of a leap.
The character must touch down on a solid surface in between air jumps.
Sun-Seeking Essence Ladder Cost: 1 mote Type: Reflexive Duration: Instant Minimum Athletics: 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisites: Sky-Stepping Exercise
By springing through the air along a trail of glittering Essence, the character can climb high into the sky or avoid touching the ground indefinitely. Each invocation of this Charm allows the user to jump off of empty air, as with the Sky-Stepping Exercise. This Charm cannot be invoked more than once per turn.
Free Spirit Impulse Cost: 7 motes Type: Simple Duration: One scene Minimum Athletics: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisites: Peace Amidst Strife, Sky-Stepping Exercise
At this level of skill, a Solar Exalt can effortlessly create and destroy momentum. She can flit and hover like a hummingbird, defying gravity and inertia.
The Exalt can utilize the effects Peace Amidst Strife reflexively at no cost, allowing her to hover indefinitely. Furthermore, so long as she has leverage (or the benefits of a Charm like Sky-Stepping Exercise) she can leap without any sort of preparation, allowing her to instantly right herself when prone and to jump effectively without the use of her legs.
Universe Rebalancing Attidude Cost: 2 motes, 1 Willpower Type: Reflexive Duration: One scene Minimum Athletics: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisites: Free Spirit Impulse
Just as they are above the laws of men, the Exalted are above the laws of nature. With this Charm the Exalt redefines her universe on her own terms, at least for a short time.
When activating this Charm, a character selects a solid object in sensory range and centres her being around it. For the Charm's duration, this object becomes the ground to her -- she falls toward it, not toward the earth. Striking or being struck by the object is considered falling damage, and striking or being struck by the ground is not. If the object is destroyed, the Charm ends.
Forget the Earth Cost: 4 motes, 1 Willpower Type: Reflexive Duration: One scene Minimum Athletics: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisites: Universe Rebalancing Attitude
The Exalted cuts the tethers that bind her to the world and floats unhindered through the ether. For the rest of the scene, she is effectively weightless, floating as freely as a leaf on the wind. If she pushes off from a solid surface, she will continue in a straight line until the air resistance slows her to a stop. Movement can be somewhat complicated in this state -- if she wishes to change direction or stop in midair, she must either use an appropriate Charm (such as Peace Amidst Strife or Sun-Seeking Essence Ladder) or attempt to swim through the air, a Dexterity + Athletics action.
