Well of Broken Wishes

This well has been known for many years as a place of good luck and power. It is said those who make a sacrifice here shall find wishes fulfilled and dreams coming true as luck brings it to pass. Those who visit and leave without giving anything or who give meaningless gifts are sometimes cursed. What is not known is that this place is a dark power, a well of the energies of the Underworld.
Deep under the earth a cavern lies with a pool that deep and dark, with water fresh as it can be tasted anywhere in Creation. Here in the depths are where the broken and shattered remains of objects, representations, and occasionally bones rest. As each of these is sacrificed so that only it's memory remains in the Underworld. All things that fall here exist perfectly in the Underworld. The ghosts always find themselves drapped in finery and riches. As such, they rarely take vengence from their seats of power.
Though it has happened only once, there was a Scavanger Lord who dove into the depths to return with many great things... yet misfortune beset him at every corner. He tried to return the objects and did, whereupon his bad luck was broken... as he fell to rest with the objects deep under the ground. He is the only one who's ghost never escaped... it's said that the howls of the wind in the Underworld or Creation sound strangely like his voice crying out.
