Equipment

Ship: Vidicus' ship is the Mighty Jade Harrier, a glorious sky-ship from the First Age which he found during his adventures, almost 150 feet in length and made from feathersteel, rich Eastern wood, and jade-reinforced glass, with steelsilk sails. It requires only a single person to fly it, being piloted from a single command chair. The Harrier is powered by a bound air elemental kept in the lower levels of the ship. A working knowledge of Old Realm is required to pilot it, as the controls are anything but intuitive. It is equipped with a highly detailed map of Creation, mountings for weapons (currently empty), and facilities for the pilot and several passengers.

The ship can be powered in two ways: by inserting three Hearthstones of significant (Level 3+) power into the command chair, or by the sheer force of the pilot's will. Piloting the ship without the hearthstones installed requires the pilot to spend a point of willpower for every change they wish to implement, such as speeding up, slowing down, ascending, descending, firing a weapon, and so forth; the pilot has to force the ship to obey him by exerting his will. If and only if all three hearthstones are installed in the command chair can the pilot command the ship without the willpower commitment. For this reason, Vidicus tries to plot his course as straight as possible.

Jade artifacts: Vidicus wields a red jade Grand Grimcleaver, an artifact inherited from his great-great-grandfather, and wears green jade lamellar armor, inherited from his grandfather and bearing the Hylvesius crest on the back.

Description

Vidicus wouldn't look out of place leading soldiers on a battlefield or leading a drunken chorus in a bar, but he'd stand out like a sore thumb in a high-class situation. He's short, stocky, strong, and generally cheerful, a boisterous man given to strong emotions and spur-of-the-moment decisions, lacking in subtlety but making up for it in martial prowess. His hair is deep red, and his beard is truly extraordinary. He guffaws rather than laughs, his pats on the back are like being slammed with a stone wall, and he'll defend his allies to his death.

If you asked Vidicus, he'd call himself a man of refined tastes, with a love of strong drink and find women. If you asked anyone else, they'd tell you he was a cheerful drunkard, a glorious bastard, a dangerous foe, and a great ally. For all his extreme emotions, Vidicus is an exceptional warrior, a decent strategist, and a man who cares genuinely about his friends.
