Wildebeest have a slate colored short coat with thin brown markings on the front quarters. The face is balck with a long beard covering the whole neck. The horns are sickle shaped and grow up to 3 feet long. When threatened they will run a short distance and stop to reassess the danger. Wildebeest live in huge herds of up to 1000 animals.
