Planned Plot

This is the general overview of what I have planned so far.

  1. When truth gets out Guardian puts the IF on lockdown, portcullis won't open, he alreaded used his powers (at the players request even) to manipulate the stone of the manse so that the stairways to the attic are sealed - Done
  2. Battles in various parts of the manse...right now the characters are isolated from each other so fights will break out on every level (automata waiters will join every fight for the sole purpose of adding crappy opponents to completely destroy) - done
    1. Moksha, in basement, vs training automata and valet
    2. Isabella, in entryway, vs 6 Leonines (my money's on Izzy)
    3. Chark, second floor, vs 6 Leonines and cook
    4. Alicrast, second floor his room, awakens to find the 3 maidsevents in his room...they're sad that he give Whisperswift all his attention...they want some...try to kill him when his guard is down
  3. Showdown with Guardian after characters figure out how to get into the mirror - done
  4. Haslanti Air Boat shows up, helps solve some of the characters supply problems - done, entering talks to trade with the Haslanti. - done
  5. After the winter the characters decided to head back to Vvardenfell - after much thinking and deciding what to do with their army this was decided.
  6. On the way back shenanigans ensue. Which includes
    1. Monster Battle!! Characters must fight a giant sea dragons, will probably have to stop for repairs after the fight, this will give me time to plan out the navy battle better. - done
    2. Layover in Scarlet Fortress. Run into Ragara Shalir and Bakre. Battle on the docks. - done
  7. Back at Vvardenfell they find out about The Isle of Shadows
  8. Abyssal Action (group plays as the DK's for something different)
  9. Solar invasion of Isle of Shadows (this is more drawn out that it seems, there will be days/weeks between scences)
    1. Innitial skirmish with SP's troops (things seem to go well)
    2. Night falls, SFTS's ghosts arrive (tough fight)
    3. Day, great gains are made.
    4. As night approaches Moray Darktide arrives (fight on two fronts, things look bad as night comes)
      1. Isabella makes desperate gambit, leaves to get help
    5. Night is bad...all hope lost...essence low...mortals falling, when all hope seems lost Isabella arrives with fleet from Vvardenfell (much ass kickery)
  10.  ????
  11. Profit!

A less detailed but longer timeline

  1. Form Alliances, create bases, gather troops
    1. Invisible Fortress, Wangler's Knob
    2. Isle of Shadows
    3. Vvardenfell
  2. The North
  3. Realm Civil War

Isle of Shadows Stuff

Will be using JesseLowe's version of the Isle of Shadows for many of the descriptions and such, but I will be adding my own ideas as well. In Abyssals the IoS is the domain of the Speaker for the Sea, I intend for this to be mostly true. The Isle has been noticed by the Silver Prince, who has sent some of his forces there. This expedition begins exploring the Isle, looking for plunder, and enters into talks with the Speaker. They make their base in the abandoned city/harbor. The presence of more than one group will provide a destabilizing element when the player's raid happens, as well as enabling attacks from the different factions who have different tactics and styles. Since I am running mostly first ed. I won't be using the Island Five information in the CoTD: West so this makes a little more sense.

For the assault on the Isle of Shadows the characters will be allied with the Shadow at the Heart of the Web. This will be because the Characters want the Isle, and the Shadow wants to deny the Sliver Prince the prize, as well as take out the Speaker for the Sea. So...two pronged attack wBlackFlame/FirstGameNotes/Shadow's abyssals attacking some other base of the SP's to draw attention. When troops are moved around to counter this threat characters storm the Isle of Shadows. Here's where the idea gets interesting...if the group is in to it I think that I will let them play the Abyssal Strike team. It would be fun for something different, and it lets them know what else is going on while they're doing their own thing.

pentagonal harbor with city around it (thanks JesseLowe). Dawn section is the one with the entrance, naval base on one side army on the other. Clockwise was Zenith, Twilight, Night, Eclipse. Zen - gov't buildings and residence Twi - University, Factory-Cathedral, Library, residences Night - Main residential area, police headquarters also located here. Eclipse - Travel and trade district. Inns, Hotels, Warehouses, Merchants

3 Manses Solar - Factory-Cathedral sealed by Shogunate, inactive after going to Shadowland Fire - Alteir-Manse, refited by Dragonblooded to replace the FC, former function unknown. Earth - Fortress, guards the entrance to the Harbor, built in Lightning Balista.

Silver Prince's Forces
One Daybreak badass, with some mortals, skeletons, and zombies.

Speaker for the Sea
Ghosts, hungry ghosts and specters.

Possible Exalts showing up:

  1. Moray Darktide, Servant of the Bodhisattva Anointed by Dark Water. Caste: Dawn, Role: DistractionBlackFlame/FirstGameNotes/Pirate Hunter
  2. Ebon Siaka, serves Bodhisattva Anointed by Dark Water. Caste: Dusk, Role: Admiral
  3. Admirable Silence, serves of Bodhisattva Anointed by Dark Water. Caste: Midnight Role: ???
  4. Knight of Ghosts and Shadows, servant of Bodhisattva Anointed by Dark Water, former servant of Lover Clad in the Raiment of Tears. Caste: Unknown, Role: Unkown, probably combat
  5. Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea, was a servant to Bodhisattva Anointed by Dark Water, currently exiled. Former Solar. Caste: Unknown, Role: ???
  6. Desolate Academ of Oblivion, Daybreak necromancer on IoS

Moray's practically definite, and I want to add the Wolf so that the characters can interact w/a renegade Abyssal to raise doubts about the Shadow and his servants. The others are just from the census of canon characters who have ties to the SP.

Impact

This is where I explore what happens after the characters have left places where they have acted thoughtlessly.

Demons
Group freed the demons bound to the Invisable Fortress. 5000 demons went streaming toward warmer climes in a generally southwesterly direction. This led them into territory controlled by the Bull of the North. The demons have been raiding the Bull's holding with hit and run tactics, using the Ice Eaters as expendable troops with the main force of 500 demons as shock troops/leaders. The demon'a haven't been anilated yet because the Bull doesn't have the time to devote to destroy them. However they have forced him to split his forces to deal with them. This has allowed the Linowan to do some raiding of their own. At the moment the Bull is mainly concerned with consolidating his power and hasn't had time/desire to deal with the situation.

Arius Vale
Since Arius vanished into the wilds of the Northeast with Pia following behind he's seen many things. After Pia found him she lead him to the Silver Pact. Having poved himself strong and honorable the more elder lunars decieded to set Arius up as an alternative to the Bull of the North. A powerful Solar warrior who would make sure that worship still flowed to the Lunar's allies the Animal Avatars. Right now he travels with Pia, a young Lunar, and a few tribes of beastmen and barbarians, but his power and fame is growing. Sidereal's from the Silver Faction are watching. Soon will hook up with the Seven-Beast Army

Crystal Wolves
The Wolves are getting cozy with Lookshy. They've gone on a few missions on behalf of Lookshy and their allies and have proved loyal, honest, and very capable. If the circle ever deciedes to approach Lookshy the Crystal Wolves will be the best way to do it. Also Lookshy is letting the CWs stay in the city as well as giving them a discount on good weapons and armor.

Five Shade Association
The culling of the disloyal elemnts of the Smoke has lead to a full scale war in the shadows. The forces loyal to the characters have the advantage because they are united (the disloyal people don't form a united front) and they have one whole element. Since the other four elements have some solar loyalists they help by pointing out safe houses and known contacts. Early successes will swell the loyalist forces. Conflict will be over by the time the Solars get out of the shadowland.

Haslanti
The main thing putting a limit on Haslanti expantion was a lack of well trained troops that served the League rather than a specific city-state. Then the characters handed them a Legion and said pay and feed them and then use them however you want. Right now the League is trying to figue out what to do first. Also with Moksha's attack on the Realm legions and telling everyone that "The Bull of the North says go away" has stirred up nearly everyone in the area. People are freaking out thinking that the Icewalker Hoard is going to show up any time. Haslanti are using this fear to get various states to enter protective alliances.

Sezakan
The Haslanti are currently seeking an Alliance with the People of the Air. The Haslanti would like to see the city join as a tenth city-state, while the Natives would like to be seperate, but are considering a closer relationship. Negotiations have just started, but are about to get more complicated due to the fact that a PotA will exalt as a twilight. This solar will want the city and by extension the PotA to take a more actile role in northern affairs. This will lead him to the Haslanti's allies...more solars.

Re: random abyssal ranger names: The Silence Between Words; Hound of Bone and Blood; Severed One, End of Species; Laughing Mien Child; Those Taken Away. ~Capric
I like some of those, particularly Those Taken Away reminds me of the Black Company books. This guys short name is definitly going to be Taker - BF
On second thought I'm going to use The Voice of those Taken Away as the Midnight of the circle.
