Sulmana, Who Finds What She Seeks, Third Circle Soul of Zuratha
Zuratha once knew what he was, and he knows whose fault his current state is. Sulmana, who enjoys the form of a metallic earthworm a hundred feet long with a beautiful female face, was once the guide to everything in Zuratha, the catalog of his depths and his breadth. Now, that face's polite demeanor and respectful speech masks Zuratha's desire for vengeance and destruction on those who have brought him to his current state. He doesn't remember that desire himself, and perhaps Sulmana is a vestige of something passed that too will fade away; but for now, she desires vengeance and vengeance only. She does still guide unfortunate travelers to the now false wonders of Zuratha's body, but she does so maliciously, vindictively, spitefully. A sorcerer who asks for her guidance may find that the route that she chooses, while eventually reaching its destination, takes paths that add years to the trip, that are inescapable without her aid, that are devoid of food, water, air. She eschews force of arms, considering it barbaric and in any case too merciful of a death, but will defend herself if needed. Woe unto the sorcerer who asks for her guidance without listing the parameters of their route, and woe unto any sorcerer who feels that their oral contract will bind her wits. She is cunning, and knows of countless slow and painful deaths for the exalts that betrayed her master, the solars most of all.
