Night Wood Park
by LeumasWhite
Crushed between the Sentinel's Hill district and a long chain of Firewander buildings (such as Boddels Eaterie), the Night Wood Park has long been a place of mystery and danger, a favored haunt of lovers seeking to hold hidden trysts and groups of young men daring each other to enter. Dark even during the day, the small park is home to many rare species of flowers and vines (including the sephin orchid, a plant used in the infamous Nexus dish Toppled Susan).
Legends say the park was the demented playground of an Anathema, a mad sorceror who twisted the local plantlife into new and horrible forms. His crowning achievement was supposedly a voracious, sentient man-eating plant, named the Audirius Tuan, which eventually proved to be his downfall when the Usurpation came, as his Essence-laden flesh became a tasty plant snack. The Dragon-Bloods burned the plant to nothingness, but the shadowland caused by the thing's feeding still persists today, a small walled-off area that keeps Firewander's Wyld zone from spilling too far into the park. Strangely, this zone refuses to shrink further than its current area, no matter the sorceries performed.
Rumours
- Several mercenaries from the Tower of Nine have sworn that they heard a strange warbling yell from the edges of the park, and claim to have seen a number of red-clad figures coming back and forth between it and Firewander.
- Small patches of ghost flowers seem to be appearing on the edges of the park; this is worrying, as these are normally impossible to cultivate outside of the deadlands.
Secret
- The Audirius Tuan still lives; its roots run deep, and exposure to both the nearby Wyld and the surrounding shadowland have twisted it far beyond originally imagined. It now hungers for the Passions of the dead, a rare and tasty delicacy that it will go to great lengths to obtain.
This needs the two rumours.

- I actually see the two rumors. - MelWong
- Er ... sorry. I feel dumb. I wasn't paying attention. I thought that the two quotations topping the rest of the entries I've read were the rumours, and for some reason the thing that says "Rumours" on it didn't register. Blame lack of sleep.
