Back to The Future
Herd-Reading Method
Cost: 3 motes Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Ride: 2 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite Charms: None
The Lunar watches a horse or herd of horses for a moment and infers from motion, scent, and appearance their state and health. He not only pierces mundane attempts to disguise the health of a horse, but also can identify the mares that will offer the strongest young, the most fertile mares, and the horses that are likely to succumb to disease - he gains as much insight into the horse or herd as the owner has, maybe more.
Steed-Calling Song
Cost: 3 motes Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Ride: 3 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Herd-Reading Method
The Lunar summons a steed, as per the Solar charm Horse-Summoning Whistle. Lunars are just as good at this as Solars, as it falls under their 'shtick' as the masters of beasts.
Horse-Heart Summoning
Cost: 18 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One Day Type: Simple Minimum Ride: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Steed-Calling Song
The Lunar pauses a moment before a jet of crimson blood shoots from his heart or mouth. The blood coalesces into a steed, one of the beasts in the Lunar's library of forms. This Charm allows the Lunar to call forth a specimen of any riding beast (That is, any animal that the Lunar can ride - with the God-Yoking Style Charm, this becomes a wide definition indeed) in his Heart's Blood library. This steed is not entirely real - it has no heart - but will respond in most fashions as an able, well-trained steed of its species. It functions in all ways as such an animal, but does not need to eat, rest, nor does it know terror.
Devil-Steed Taming Mantra
Cost: 7 motes Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Ride: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Steed-Calling Song
No animal can resist the whims of a Lunar horsemaster for long, no matter how contrary or willful the beast. By using this Charm, the Lunar can tame a steed over the course of ten minutes of effort (a dollop of kindness and a bucket of cruelty is the standard.). This Charm functions on any animal that cleaves to being domesticated and used as a mount - such as a camel, elephant, mammoth, or horse - but not unnatural creatures, nor creatures that cannot be domesticated by mortals, such as hybrocs.
The steed will always recognize the Lunar as a natural master, and the Lunar gains two bonus dice to all Ride checks when using steeds tamed in this fashion.
God-Yoking Style
Cost: 15 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Ride: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite Charms: Devil-Steed Taming Mantra
The Lunar leaps on the back of an animal - any animal - that he wishes to tame and, with coronas of Essence flowing around them both, wrestles it into submission. There is no beast that can resist one of Luna's Children for long - they are ultimately the lords of all the life of the wild. The Lunar rolls Manipulation + Ride against the would-be-steed's Willpower in a contested roll. Should the Lunar net more successes than the steed over the course of the contest (one roll per minute, ten minutes), the steed is broken - it will cleave to the Lunar's will like any domesticated animal. Should the steed win, it will likely turn on the Lunar and attack ferociously.
This Charm invokes the authority of the Celestial Exalted, and as such will even work on supernatural steeds such as God-blooded horses. It can yoke elementals, demons, or spirits - if the Lunar can catch it and could ride it, he can tame it with God-Yoking Style. Creatures with volition - that is, those with human-level intelligence - may rebel if mistreated and the Lunar cannot yoke any steed with Essence higher than 3.
Horse Races the Moon
Cost: 3 motes Duration: One turn Type: Reflexive Minimum Ride: 3 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite Charms: Herd-Reading Method.
The Lunar exhales gently, bolstering his mount with Essence. Steeds affected in this fashion shoot forward with amazing speed, their hooves flashing moonsilver in the sun as they race across the ground. This Charm doubles the movement speed of the Lunar's mount for a single turn.
Racing Stallion Style
Cost: 9 motes Duration: Indefinite Type: Simple (Transformation) Minimum Ride: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Horse Races the Moon
The Lunar snaps his arms forward, moonsilver Essence coursing around his form as his hands and feet become hooves, the muscles in his arms and legs broadening as his spine lengthens to accomodate his new, four-legged form. While in this state the Lunar loses access to his hands and arms (unless he grows a new pair with Hundred-Handed Artisan) but gains great speed and maneuverability. He triples his land movement speed and doubles his jumping distances.
This is a Transformation Charm of the Strength Totem.
