Intelligence Hybrid Charms

Intelligence Hybrid Charms help the Lunar to shape her own mind, shifting into the realm of abstracts as she transforms herself into something more dangerous and thoughtful, a creature you would not want to face.

These Charms are rarely Obvious in nature.

Knowledge and Memory Charms

Bloodhound’s Mind</b>

<b>Cost: 2, 4 or 5 motes Mins: Intelligence 2, Essence 1Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Intelligence Enduring

The character begins to commit senses to memory, storing them for later understanding. The character chooses a number of her five senses when activating this Charm; 1 sense costs 2 motes to activate, 2 cost 4 motes to activate (and require the character to be at Essence 2), and all senses cost 5 motes (and require the character to be at Essence 3). Everything the character registers with that sense for the duration of the Charm will be remembered perfectly, even after the Charm ends.

Racial Memory Transferance</b>

<b>Cost: 4 motes Mins: Intelligence 4, Essence 3Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Bloodhound’s Mind

The character’s blood carries her memories, shifting and spiralling through history. Any child begotten while the character is under the effects of this Charm will grow and learn rapidly. At birth, they may begin existance with up to five automatic Favoured Abilities or Attributes, each of which must be an Attribute or Ability that the Lunar possessed at 4 or higher during their conception. They will also have fragments of the Lunar’s memories, exactly as if they were reincarnations of the Lunar’s Essence Shard, although they will not automatically inherit Charms or Essence. Finally, they will automatically possess the Dynasty of Inheritance and Breed True Merits, passing their Favoured Attributes and Abilities and their memories to their own children. These children will almost always have very similar Virtues to the Lunar who birthed them. Note that the children’s supernatural skill and talent will often be noticed, but that this Charm is not automatically Obvious. (Note: If creating one of these children as an NPC, the Merits do not count towards bonus point maximums. As a PC, count the Merits normally.)

Monkey See Observance</b>

<b>Cost: 3 motes Mins: Intelligence 3, Essence 2Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid, Training
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Sensory Memory Technique

Remembrance is only the first step. With this Charm, the character learns to practice and develop, rapidly increasing her rate of learning. This Charm halves all training times; this stacks normally with any mentor the character might have. The character must spend XP as normal.

Wolf Mother Teaches the Cub</b>

<b>Cost: 3 motes Mins: Intelligence 4, Essence 3Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid, Obvious, Training
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Monkey See Observance

The character gains increasing understanding of how to show others what she has herself learned. The character may teach others with exceptional speed; all Attribute and Ability training times for a target are halved, provided that the character is acting as a teacher for the target.

Force of Will Charms

Stubborn Ox Method</b>

<b>Cost: 4 motes per point Mins: Intelligence 3, Essence 1Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid, Stackable
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Intelligence Enduring

The character is a font of strength and will. While this Charm is active, add 1 point to the character’s maximum temporary Willpower pool for every 4 motes spent, up to a maximum of the character’s Essence rating. The pool must be filled normally. Extra points over the character’s normal maximum do not remain if this Charm is dissolved.

Relentless Ant Approach</b>

<b>Cost: 3 motes Mins: Intelligence 4, Essence 2Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid, Obvious, Social
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Stubborn Ox Method

The character shifts her mind, becoming focused exclusively on her goals. Her MDV is increased by her Essence, but her Charisma drops by 1, her Manipulation drops by 2, and she must spend 2 Willpower instead of 1 to surpress Virtues (this increases Limit by 1, as usual).

Badger Defends Its Nest</b>

<b>Cost: 4 motes Mins: Intelligence 3, Essence 3Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid, Obvious
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Stubborn Ox Method

The character’s wounds spur her to ever-greater heights of fury or desperation, as she uses them to survive. Whenever the character takes damage, she rolls dice equal to the number of levels of damage applied to her health track. For every success, the character regains 1 mote for bashing damage and 2 motes for lethal or aggravated damage. The character may sacrifice 6 motes of this recovery for one Willpower point instead.

All Foods Are One</b>

<b>Cost: 3 motes Mins: Intelligence 3, Essence 3Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Hybrid
Duration: Indefinate
Prerequisites: Stubborn Ox Method

The character learns that her Essence and Willpower are all, at heart, the same power. The character may reflexively transform 1 Willpower into 4 motes of Essence, or may reflexively transform 6 motes of Essence into one Willpower. This does not count as gaining either Willpower or Essence for the purpose of any Charms or effects that monitor, increase, or restrict such effects.

Comments

Just one warning. You're putting soybean trading into the last charm there, All Foods Are One. I'm not sure if there are any other charms that enable soybean trading, but once it's in, it can cause mathematical issues. Where if you can just buy for one price, then sell for another, you get an infinite stream. For example, a Sphere of the Revolutionary Dog will allow you to burn 6m to gain 2 WP. That you then convert into 8 motes. That you then use 6 of to buy two willpower.... Even putting a 'per turn' limit on it won't help, as you'll still be able to have fresh pools at the beginning of each scene. It's a cool ability, and I don't think it should be removed, but it might be helpful to include such a warning in the description, with some note of how ST fiat is expected to prevent (or enable!) such things. -- GreenLantern

Ooh, that wascally Heawthstone. However, I think I've got a nice little fix for that, which adds to the flavour of the Charm and everything. Thanks for catching it. :) -FrivYeti

Badger Defends It's Nest, when combined with the regen charm(Worm's Tail regeneration), also allows you to start every scene with a full pool by bashing yourself in the head. Admittably, Twilights can do this also, and it would look odd, but it is possible.

Stubborn Ox Method is so good, I don't see why someone wouldn't take it. (In hybrid form, it's less than 1 mote/point). Possibly put in a note that it's cost is not reduced in hybrid combo's. (Or maybe it cost 2m/point in hybrid form, rather than <1). -FlowsLikeBits

Well, it has its downside; mainly that you have to either stay in hybrid form fulltime or have another way to recover WP to use it in a combo. But I do see the point. *considers* I think I will be bumping up the base cost to 4, which should shake down okay. - FrivYeti
