Pyreflies
There is a saying in the forests of the East - "The embers of the fire are curious and playful, but to touch them is to know pain." A common maxim about the potential dangers that lurk in the eastern forests, many of which are not obvious until it is too late, they apply much more literally to the beings commonly known as pyreflies.
Pyreflies are formed in almost invariably the same manner. First, a forest fire sweeps through an area of the East, doing the usual damage. It passes into a Wyld region, where it begins to peter out, but the sparks and embers that it casts off last far longer. They smoulder, and change, and take on a life of their own; without a prior intelligence guiding them, they are easily transformed. The newly-created thing is a pyrefly; a tiny ember of flame with gossamer wings, which whistles happily as it dances from flower to flower. For those lucky (or unlucky) enough to see them, the sight of a colony of pyreflies is a beautiful and joyous thing, as they caper and frolic through the air.
They are also incredibly dangerous. Pyreflies are wreathed in a corona of flame, which they pass on to everything they touch. They feed on smoke and bathe in flames, and they are curious besides; entire colonies of pyreflies have wandered out of the Wyld, never realizing that they doom themselves by doing so, and brought torrents of flame into Creation that dance and coil towards the most dangerous and flammable places they can. Fires directed by pyreflies are terrible things, and very little can be done save trying to kill an entire swarm of creatures that can ignite anything they touch. Fortunately, pyreflies last only a few days in Creation; their innocent ravages are thus mercifully short.

Wyld Mutations: Fireproof* (Affliction), Firery Corona* (Blight)
Fireproof: This affliction is an upgrade to the Pox 'Fire Adaptation'. Pyreflies are completely immune to natural heat and flame, and have +5B/L soak against magical flame.
Firery Corona: Every action that pyreflies are in contact with a surface, they deal one die of lethal damage to it. If the object is flammable, it will almost certainly ignite (objects that are flammable, but not easily, make require a certain amount of damage before combusting, at the ST's discretion.)
Note: As miniscule creatures, pyreflies are almost impossible to hit when they are aware they are under attack, which is rarely. Attacks against them by larger creatures suffer a -4 external penalty.
Comments
I really like these ones not the least of which because I have had similar ideas. I think though that they should also be a very rare showpiece for the rich. Capturing and keeping one alive and all and showing it off. Just a thought. - BogMod
- Well, given the speed with which they decay in Creation, you would need your own pocket of the Wyld - but that wouldn't be outside the resources of a Guildmaster, probably. ;) I imagine it's more of a unique thing, though. Might make a good plot "Catch several hundred pyreflies for me! I will pay you in artifacts!" - FrivYeti
