Kalana, Bound by Six-Score Chains, Fetich Soul of Sacheverell
Kalana was once the soul of Sacheverell that carried his stories to their completion, the ending that justified the tale. She no longer is. When Sacheverell passed for the first time into slumber, Kalana decided that this could not be. Her purpose was to bring his stories to their finest point, and she could not do this if he did not work them. She decided, alone among all of the souls in all of the realms of the world, and later all those of Malfeas, that she must strive with every piece of her will to wake him. She nearly succeeded - once. She strode proudly into his dreams, accompanied by the sounds of trumpets and a thousand stories following behind her. She wrought havoc on his sleep, and it became fitful; he shuddered, as if to wake. It was then that the Primordials realized he could never be allowed to wake, as for the first time they felt his will start close around them again. All of the primordials sent their lesser souls, and one hundred and twenty third circle souls could not kill Kalana, as she can not die as long as Sacheverell dreams. They did, however, bind her with a small piece of their will, and she was borne down by the weight of this burden. She has been able to do nothing since.
Kalana once appeared as a woman of incredible beauty with raven black hair many times her own height trailing behind her, with streamers of golden silk as her robes. Now, every lock of hair, every streamer of her clothes, is a chain of the softest, most delicate and yet unbreakable silk that could ever be. Where once resolution followed in her wake, where the meaning of things resolved itself behind her, now nothing follows but the moaning of her and her chains and the weeping of those who see her plight. She can do nothing now but walk, trudging and slow, plodding through tales that she is horrified to see finishing on their own. It has been said that if all of the souls that bound her are killed or rescind their bans, then she will be restored to her former self, Kalana, Who Zealously Ends All Things. If this occurs, she will immediately begin to attempt to wake Sacheverell. Many Yozi will try to strike her down, but they may prove unable.
Notes and abilities: At the moment, Kalana has no abilities except one vestigial one: she may appear at the conclusion of a story, but there she may do nothing. If she is restored to her power, then life will resolve itself as she or Sacheverell wills in her presence; a sorceror who summons her may be able to bargain for the ending he desires, but he cannot be sure what he will get until it has transpired. Kalana is and incredibly perilous to associate with, and her ability is incredibly unpredictable, except that it will always bring about an ending.
