:I'd say a top-level project generally involves the work of others, and perhaps a number of sub-pages. As to Ashes' comment, I note that it's very difficult to provide this trust, as most new people to the wiki violate BestPractices in their first few edits. Sure, Ashes may be the exception, but other than quality formatting so far, I haven't seen anything to warrant that trust. I'm not saying Ashes doesn't deserve it (nor am I trying to be a pain) but for once, I'm agreeing with Telgar, and trying to defend his comments. -- GreenLantern

This should be a subpage of your UserName?. Top-level pages like this are reserved for UserPages, big projects and important categories. - Telgar

How big does a project have to be to qualify as a "big project" worthy of a top-level page? That aside, this has potential to grow into something demanding subpages of its own. I think a top-level page is fine. - David.
Yeah, please just trust me. I know what I'm up to, thanks. ~AshesOnMyName
I'd say a top-level project generally involves the work of others, and perhaps a number of sub-pages.
This is my page. Please address me. Also please consider that you aren't the center of the world - maybe this does involve the work of others, but not you. ~AshesOnMyName.

It's generally considered bad form to delete others' commentary; in the future, I suggest moving it to a subpage if you do not want comments on a main page. - FrivYeti

What are you trying to achieve here? This project is a totally legitimate use of a top-level name based on the intended scope, and unless someone here is planning to delete the page this line of commentary is kind of pointless. Unilaterally ending the line of discussion seems better to me than emptily fighting it out. -Charlequin
Look, I am only trying to contribute something cool to the wiki. But all you people want to do is talk about how you want the wiki to run, both here and on my userpage. It upsets me. This is a place for sharing creativity, I thought. If you want to talk about the content of my project with me, then please, I want to talk about it with you! That is why I am posting here! But stop talking past me (GreenLantern) and have the decency to respect my territory. I am removing this discussion at the end of the day, and if you bring it back here I am removing it again. It is not productive, it is oppressive, and it hurts. ~AshesOnMyName
This is indeed a place for sharing creativity. And your Warp And Weft idea looks both extremely interesting and very original, and I look forwards to seeing it developed.
However, the reason for the formatting standards of the Wiki are that there have been problems with formatting in the past. Getting defensive about it doesn't convince existing users that everything's good, it makes it look like it isn't (even when this is not, in fact, the case). Based on the amount of information you had posted, it was very reasonable to assume that this was a single-person houserule project, and thus should go under a personal subpage. Instead of explaining why it was not, you simply said "Trust me", which without a backup argument isn't always a great approach. And unilaterally deleting a discussion in which both sides have already had multiple proponents doesn't make the debate go away; it just convinces the other side that you're not on the level.
My suggestion would be, instead, to explain WHY this deserves to be on a top-level page, at which point I can almost guarantee that the other posters will give it a reasoned look and back off. If you simply remove the discussion instead of explaining your position, it just hurts it.
