I say that it is the foundation for many of the myths and unexplained events from the history of Creation.
The spiders are far too busy to be rewriting fate all the time, so they simply move the sidereals own thread from one place to another. Thus anything that happened up to the instant that the Avoidance Kata was used remains 'real'. However, you cannot take ANYTHING with you that you did not posess prior to the rewriting. You actions leave their mark, but you cannot displace the items/actions of the rest of the weave. (You still keep lost health levels, lost essence, and the like.) So no walking into Mnemon's house and using Avoidance Kata to make off with the emerald thurible.
Please note, I think I started that discussion when I suggested using it in a combo. However let me throw out some side effects of the ruling I outlined above: - Investigation can reveal you were there. - Some powerful magics may be able to create a Sorcerous link if the weilder can manipulate fate themselves. - There are probably others, but I'm tired.
