The Scripture of the Intellectual Maiden
<I>Once, there was a maiden...
...who spent all her time reading.
For every book she read, she wrote two more.
Then, one day her library burst
And the pages of her books scattered to all the corners of Creation.
She looked about at the people cleaning up the mess.
"To know the world is to forsake it," she said.SiderealLore/Falcon/I>
<i>Fortunate Study Practice
Cost: 1 mote per 2 experience points Duration: Special Type: Simple Min. Lore 2 Min. Essence: 2 Prereqs: None
There are very few Chosen of the Maidens, and a lot of Creation that needs to be maintained. While some scurry hither and yon, patching up tears in the tapestry as best they can, the true master of fate may rest confident in the knowledge that whatever the problem is, he will have been recently studying just that subject...
A character may activate this charm when they spend experience points. After five weeks of study and training, the character has learned... something. The spent points go into a FSP pool, where they will sit indefinitely.
The character may later choose to 'spontaneously' manifest dots in an ability or specialty by spending the experience points in his FSP pool and declaring that that just happens to be what his character was studying.
The motes used to activate this charm remain committed until the experience points are spent.
Hold on, I'm unclear on the FSP. How does it interact with Training Times? For example, say I just got 10 experience. I spend 5 motes to the FSP, commiting them all. I also don't train in the least. Now, a day later, I really need JiAS. Can I just de-committ and gain it?
- Well, first of all it only works on abilities and specialties. I thought about letting it work on charms, but I wanted to keep it low-powered. As for the training time... I think five weeks (the maximum training time for raising a skill). I'll put it in. And anyway, five is an auspicious number.
Neat idea, but it needs some clarification. DS
