Anacar Academy
Anacar Academy is a primary school focused on the arts, history and religion of the Realm, giving its graduates a wide foundation to work with upon entering secondary school. Near its 200th anniversary, it has become one of the best primary schools on the Blessed Isle.
Timeline
- RY 566 – Ragara Bashan, an Air-Aspect Dragon-Blooded, is granted a charter by the Empress to build a new primary school outside of Sion. Construction begins immediately.
- RY 568 – The Anacar Academy opens, with Bashan as its first domine.
- RY 588 – The academy celebrates its 20th anniversary by hosting a large Gateway tournament during Calibration. Originally held every five years, it soon became so popular that it was held every ten years as to let the school recuperate from the large influx of people.
- RY 595 – Emerald Sand, a patrician’s daughter, Exalts as a Solar Anathema after being nearly beaten to death during Calibration. She escapes the guards and flees the school, but is killed soon after by the Wyld Hunt.
- RY 618 – The academy celebrates its 50th anniversary. The Gateway tournament ends in a spectacular match between Ledaal Kes and Ragara Szaya which lasts for four days.
- RY 622 – A group of unExalted Dynasts are kidnapped while returning from a trip to the Imperial City. Ledaal Keimei, one of the students, Exalts and kills the kidnappers.
- RY 626 – Ragara Bashan retires as domine. He is replaced by his wife Nellens Miran, an unExalted Dynast.
- RY 627 – In a need for more housing for students, Miran commissions the construction of a new dormitory. The new building takes less than a year to complete.
- RY 635 – Joyful Pearl, the personal assistant of Nellens Miran, vanishes without a trace. Rumors circulate about the cause, but no answers were found.
- RY 642 – Nellens Miran dies from natural causes. Her place is taken by Ledaal Kebok Delen, an Air Aspect and former student of the academy.
- RY 658 – A fire breaks out during the Gateway tournament when a Fire Aspect loses his cool after losing the championship match. Few were injured, and the offending Dynast made a hefty donation to the school to help cover the damages to the grounds.
- RY 662 – A freak lightning storm breaks over the academy, torching the small wooden shrine to the Dragons. Construction on a somewhat larger marble replacement begins a few months later.
- RY 668 – The Empress herself makes a small appearance at the academy’s 100th anniversary celebration, playing a brief game of Gateway with Cathak Cacek Poral, the winner of that year’s tournament.
- RY 695 – One of the servants in the mortal quarters is discovered to be a Solar Anathema after he tries to kidnap one of the Dragon-blooded students. He is quickly killed by Ledaal Keimei, who had been acting as the school’s resident Immaculate.
- RY 713 – Mnemon Toren, an Air-Aspect sorcerer and instructor of the arcane arts, retires. Her position is filled sporadically until the arrival of Mnemon Nimaro in RY 760.
- RY 738 – Ledaal Kebok Delen retires as domine, replaced by Peleps Nelin Felis, a Water Aspect.
- RY 742 – Graceful Flame, Felis’ personal assistant, retires abruptly. Her replacement, Laughing Rain, states that her retirement was brought on by family business. Rumors abound that it was because of a possible affair with Felis, but no accusations are made.
- RY 764 – A forge is constructed on the school grounds at the request of Kiano Janeth, who uses it to instruct her students in the ways of metalworking as well as make and repair weapons for the school guards.
- RY 768 – Present day. The school gears up for its 200th anniversary, preparing a large festival for the students as well as the traditional Gateway tournament.
