This artifact looks as a blindfold of plain white cloth, three feet long and an inch wide. It is, however, of ancient and cunning artifice. Made of strands of voices stolen from Berengiere, it has potencies that are not immediately obvious. When it lays across the eyes of a bearer, Eyes Blinded and Eyes Open blocks their sight. It allows them to instead use hearing as sight for all purposes that are not purely visual (such as colour or ink marks) with a range increment, as per thrown weapons, of 50 yards. More importantly, this artifact allows the wearer to observe and interact with immaterial beings as if they were material; Berengiere's cloth whispers thoughts of their presence into the ears of the all-seeing sightless.
This will, of course, negate penalties that apply specifically to sight-based awareness rolls, such as those from fog, darkness, or someone being behind you.
