This system is for Storytellers that like to have a minimum of training time for players, ala level training time in D&D3e. It also makes it possible to learn new stuff in offtime without having to give XP to the players. This is espesially suited for games over a longer timeperiod. Like generation games og highly political games.

Use the stated XP costs in the core books. Transform the XP into training time and ignore the XP cost.
To figure out unaltered training time mulitiply XP needed by 100 to get the days.(XP*100=training time in days)
Players can expend XP to reduce the training time by up to 1/10th.
The xp spendt is 1 for each 100 days in the training time. This XP reduces the 100 days to 10 days.
It is possible to spend only part of the total training cost in XP.
It is possible for humans to not spend any XP.

Example: A new ability that normaly costs 3 XP now instead costs 300 days of training time. So to get the new ability mentioned above the player could either train for 300 days or spend 3xp and train for 30 days. The players could also select to pay 1 XP and thus reducing 100 of the days to 10. Using a total of 1 XP and 210 days training.

Creatures that are static or have a hard time learning new stuff like WoD Vampires, Tolkien elves and Exalted Spirits and Elementals can not only spend time. They have to both spend time and XP to learn anything at all. In other words; they can only learn something new when thay have XP, but it still takes some time for them to learn. Exalted can reduce training time to 0 for their favored abilities. They only spend the XP cost.
