I'm fairly certain you are correct about the inapplicability of HGD against the curses, and it's an awesome tactic. I'm going to strongly recommend that FRD use the Scourge - stripping the Lion of his Willpower will severely weaken him, since it will prevent him from being able to use his perfect defenses (once he's out of PoCB parries, anyway) and his primary method of regaining WP (Agony-Savoring Spirit) does require him to have a WP to use it. His most likely secondary method would be an Abyssal version of Dancing with Strife Technique from CotI, but that requires him to defend against an attack that achieved at least 10 successes, so his dice-eating effects will actually work against him in that regard. Nice job! - Hapushet
The other thing to remember is that there is a Powerbow out there that automagically does perfect attacks. Sure, it lessens your defense ability, but when all you need to do is pull out a very large multi-shot archery charm (relatively cheap) to get a large number of perfects incoming, that's not a bad idea. It's a great way to launch many many perfects, without sucking down your willpower. If you can come up with some sort of uber-multi-attack combo, and include an "I win initiative" charm, it'll ensure that either the Diplomat successfully drains tons of perfect defenses, or becomes target #1, leaving the others to hit their big offenses. Especially if you can get more than, say, 10 attacks in one big action (split your die pool like mad, and have a stone of perfect mobility, for example). Just a thought, as when combined with the curse of the Scourge, it can drain his WP, then drain his PoCB defenses. - GregLink
- If you're thinking of the so-called Powerbow of Perfect Accuracy from the Dawn Caste book, it doesn't actually do perfect attacks. It just ignores all environmental penalties. It only eliminates difficulty increases, it doesn't do anything about rolled defenses or diepool reductions. - FrivYeti
