- Prerequisite Charms: Graceful Bishonen Bureaucracy
Bureaucrats will treat you as a fellow colleague, allowing you access to any records not restricted from their perusal and lowering the difficulty of getting access to anything they need permission for by your Moe. They also freely gossip with you; if you invest a little time, you will quickly learn who likes who, who hates who, and who has had a thirty year feud over who hid the stapler. You also learn who is most easily bribed.
The Perfect Form
- Cost: 4 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Subtle/Mental
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 3
- Minimum Moe: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Access
The Bishonen produces the perfect form for what he needs to get a Bureaucracy to do. This halves the time necessary for a Bureaucracy Action.
Master of Paperwork
- Cost: 5 motes, 1 WP
- Duration: One Task or Moe Days
- Type: Speech
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 4
- Minimum Moe: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: The Perfect Form
The Bishonen can turn a bureaucracy into a paragon of speed and grace or a nightmare. The bureau of his choice (Which can have 8^Moe employees) now either works quickly (Divide the time it takes to do anything by his Moe) or slowly (multiply the time it takes to do anything by his Moe), either for the duration of one task or for Moe Days.
Hard Bargainer
- Cost: 5 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Subtle/Mental
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 2
- Minimum Moe: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Graceful Bishonen Bureaucracy
The Bishonen is hard to overcome in a business transaction. In a business dealing, he turns a 10% profit for every success on his Manipulation + Bureaucracy roll.
Sell the Dead a Bone
- Cost: 10 motes, 1 WP
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Speech
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 3
- Minimum Moe: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: Hard Bargainer, Rich Man's Discount
The Bishonen could sell a ghost his own dead body. When making a sale, he rolls his Manipulation + Bureaucracy with a difficulty of the target's Moe. Every additional success reduces the Resources demanded by the target by 1. (In the case of a non-Resources price, the Storyteller should proportionally reduce the value of whatever is being demanded.)
Pulse of the Market
- Cost: 3 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Speech
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 2
- Minimum Moe: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Graceful Bishonen Bureaucracy
With a glance, the Bishonen determines what is and isn't for sale, legally, and illegally, in a town or community, and where to find it. This also gives him a sense of current market trends.
Rich Man's Discount
- Cost: 3 motes / point of Resources of original cost.
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Speech
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 2
- Minimum Moe: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Graceful Bishonen Bureaucracy
The rich get deals the poor do not. And a true Bishonen always appears as a man of substance. Reduce the Resource cost of a purchase by 1 as the seller tries to curry favor with you. This costs 3*original Resources cost of the purchase.
Living the High Life
- Cost: 5 motes, 1 WP
- Duration: Moe Days
- Type: Speech
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 3
- Minimum Moe: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Rich Man's Discount
Bishonen are meant to live well. With a small tweaking of the world's social fabric, they can always do so. While this charm lasts, the Bishonen lives as if he had Resources equal to his Bureaucracy, as everyone gives him free things and extends him lines of credit.
Spin Moe to Jade
- Cost: 10 motes, 1 WP
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Speech
- Minimum Bureaucracy: 4
- Minimum Moe: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: Living the High Life
Money for nothing! The Bishonen can spin his Moe into enough money to make a single purchase of a resource level equal to his Moe.
Comments
As a bureaucracy whore, I've got to say that these are some of my favorite charms yet - however, I'm a bit concerned that that the money-reducing ones are a bit more powerful than the actual bureaucratic charms themselves. Reducing a cost from Resources 5 to Resources 4 is a huge deal, and combo-ing a few of these together can make manse construction as cheap as a run to the Qwik-E-Mart, while the most powerful organization-affecting charm is barely able to affect a mid-sized office. -- GreenLantern
- Well, Master of Paperwork does become more powerful as you increase in Moe. And 125 people is actually going to be pretty large in most kingdoms unless you're either manipulating the Realm, the Guild, or the Celestial Bureaucracy. But I can punch it up to 10^Moe (Keep in mind that's 10 to the power of Moe, not 10*Moe), so as to give it a wider effect at lower levels. As for the money ones, the problem is that by the Resource system, you can't really reduce a price by less than a huge amount. However, I think for Rich Man's Discount, I'll make the mote cost proportional to the original resources level, which should help a bit. --JohnBiles
- 10^Moe might be a bit much - 10,000 people really is a Kingdom, at Essence 4. Worse yet, by Essence 6-7, you're covering the entire realm. Then again, maybe one superlative Eclipse really can run all of Creation. Perhaps a middle-ground, at 8^Moe? -- GreenLantern
- Sounds reasonable to me.
