I should have made this more clear - or just provided the listings.
They have the same protective value, etc. as *mundane* versions of those armors, not Artifact.
I think I'd likely make them exceptional versions, with Ashigaru providing +1 BThus_Spake_Zarataylor/L Soak and -1 Mobility, and the Gunzosha providing +1 BThus_Spake_Zarataylor/L Soak, and -1 Fatigue. I'm sure various versions existed, though - different forges at different times would have stressed different combinations of mobility, protection, and ease of use.
So the statlines look something like -
Ashigaru 8L/7B soak -1 Mobility 1 Fatigue
Gunzosha 10L/10B soak -3 Mobility 1 Fatigue
I'm not sure as that should be considered "official" errata, but I'll talk to Geoff about it.
