Solar Larceny Charms by Quendalon
Essence-Stealing Method
Cost: 1 mote, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Larceny: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Flawless Pickpocketing Technique
The master thieves of the Solar Exalted transcend ordinary theft, learning instead to steal intangible and immaterial things. With this Charm, the character touches a target with an Essence pool in order to drain some of his Essence. If the target has a Charm that allows him to notice or defend against attacks he is not aware of, he may prevent the use of this Charm with any defensive action; otherwise the theft succeeds automatically, with no one, even the target, being the wiser.
To determine how much Essence is stolen, the character rolls her Manipulation + Larceny. She gains a number of motes equal to her Essence rating + the successes rolled, and the target loses an equal number of motes. The character cannot steal more motes than the target possesses. Any motes stolen in excess of the character’s maximum Essence pool are lost.
Elsewhere Theft Technique
Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Larceny: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Essence-Stealing Method, Stealing From Plain Sight Spirit
Choosing a target within arm’s reach, the character reaches out into his Essence to steal an object that he keeps stored in Elsewhere. This requires a successful Dexterity + Larceny roll against a difficulty of the target’s Essence rating. There is no chance that the character will be caught in the act. The target will note the item is missing after a number of turns equal to the Solar’s Essence rating or when he attempts to recall it from Elsewhere, whichever comes first.
If the target has more than one item in Elsewhere, the Solar steals one at random unless she already knows what items are stored there, such as with the Elsewhere-Perceiving Eye Charm.
Seize the Dragon’s Egg
Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Larceny: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite Charms: Elsewhere Theft Technique, Magpie’s Invisible Talon
Every Hearthstone receives a constant, steady influx of Essence from its Manse of origin. A Solar well versed in the arts of theft may take advantage of that bond. With this Charm, the character instantly calls to her hand the Hearthstone from any Manse to which she is attuned. The stone moves through Elsewhere; it leaves no trace of its passage and may not be intercepted. This Charm may be successfully invoked no matter where the character or Hearthstone reside, even if one or both lie outside the bounds of Creation.
