Pirates of the West
General Information
- No overall organization
- Generally have nicknames/epithets
- Have a rough pecking order based on reputation
- Generally only have three titles
- Captain – denotes a pirate who owns/runs a ship
- Admiral – denotes a pirate who owns/runs several ships
- King – denotes a pirate who owns/runs enough ships to take over a decently sized country.
- Famous pirates are often challenged by young punks looking to make names for themselves.
- There is no official code of the pirates, but there are a few rules of thumb used by smarter or more experienced pirates
- Don’t shit where you eat (if you are currently based out of somewhere, don’t attack boats going to or from that place)
- No matter how rich the loot, you have to live to spend it (if it looks like you are going to lose/die, run the heck away.)
- If you eat all the oysters, you don’t get no more pearls (stealing, looting, etc. is all well and good, but killing too many merchants attracts the Realm’s attention and causes shipping to dry up)
(In)Famous Pirates
Morey Darktide – A Solar Pirate sailing under the flag of Skullstone, he raids places that the Silver Prince doesn't like.
Child of the Sun and Sea (Yoko) - The Infamous Forsaken Pirate who appears to have recently gotten an airship.
Sesus Rike, The Red Noble - A Fire Aspect Swashbuckler known for his charm and brutality. (deceased)
Virun, The Sea Sage - An Air Aspect who loots First Age ruins and targets people with artifacts.
Seventh Shark - Pirate Captain of the Scarlet Axe, he is as brutal as his name.
Sagacious Jackal - Pirate Captain of the Vermillion Sword, he was kicked out of the Kalas Balan Dojo for excessive force.
Granite Bear - Pirate Captain of the Deadly Hammer, he uses a daiklave, even though he is no exalt.
Veiled Serpent - Pirate Captain of the Invisible Knife, she is not spoken of.
Stalwart Steel - Pirate Captain of the Golden Thunderhead, he is known for only stealing from Pirates.
Pale Hunter - Pirate Captain of the Triumphant Storm, he is a normal pirate.
Legendary Pirates of the First Age
The Dread Pirate Lucius: A Forsaken Admiral who lived during the Ursupation. He became a pirate famed for his bloodthirty nature, crack pirate crew, and never taking prisoners. During his ten year crime spree he ravaged many terrestrial ouposts and stole lots of treasure before being captured and execuited by the Dragon-Blooded Shogunate. The whereabouts of his treasure remain unknown. He has since become one of the scary boogie men of the Realm and parts of the west.
Brilliant Rain, the Mastermind: A First Age Twilight famed for the intricate perfection of her plans. Eventually committed suicide to prevent being taken in to the Deleberative. It has been assumed that this was partially to keep the location of her treasure secret. It still has yet to be found.
Hidden Mist, the Shadow Pirate: A First Age Night famed for his ability to cause ships to simply vanish. Eventually vanished himself. It is unkown what happened to his treasure.

Pirate Legends
There is a legend that all pirates tell to each other. They say that once there was a god who sailed the West gathering all those who died at sea and taking them to the next world. To those Sailors who truly loved the sea he would offer a choice: He could take you to the next world or you could sign on with him and sail the seas for awhile longer and build up some good karma. And things were well on the sea.
Except that he changed. Some say that he was once human and was made a god by the love of a goddess, who spurned him and made him bitter. Others say he was replaced by a dark god, who lives to loot and pillage. Most pirates don't give a fig, since he often saves them from certain death and lets them sail with him so they can loot and pillage forever.
