A constant and unexpected thorn in the sides of the Archons is the Anathema known thus far, only as the Wretched. As one of the Wretched (Night) Caste of the Anathema, this woman manifests many dark powers for stealth and trickery, however she breaks the common mold and takes the role of a very strong warrior much like the Forsaken, making her very strong indeed. Thankfully she does not channel any of the Anathema's dark mind control powers and as such is thankfully a very up-front adversary.
The first encounter with the Anathema as mere minutes after her dark exaltation upon one of Juno's paired skyships, the Winters Clover. The ship and crew performed a spectacular crashlanding in the fields of the Pangu province. The Anathema was discovered by MAgpie and appeared dazed and confused. She wailed about her missing prince, a subject that she has not mentioned since. More importantly she mentioned a dragonblooded family, evidence that at some point she has been connected to the dynasty that rules the Realm. She was pursued swiftly by Alphaeios' Demonslayer Cavalry, but with aid from Magpie she was able to escape the Hunt.
Some weeks later she was sighted in an derelict home in Noble. The second encounter was wildly different, the Wretched appeared far stronger and more sure of her abilities and purpose. During the conversation and subsequent battle with Tepet Anona she claimed that a power called Irezua would destroy the dragonblooded traitors. This claim seemed substanciated by the ancient sword hilt that she stole recently - an item auctioned by the Ledaals and sought after by Tepet Juno. The estate was destroyed and the anathema injured Tepet Anona with a marked increase in Martial Arts skill. Additionally, she manifested possibly through an artifact the power of flight, escaping on large white wings. The recovery of such an item or power allows the Wretched immense freedom to dodge the Wyld Hunt on the Blessed Isle - and has succeeded.
The last attack of the Wretched was perhaps a little too coincidental. The Winters Clover's sistership the Snapdragon was force to make an emergency landing a few miles out from the Scarlet Docks and the Imperial City. Investigating the Archons discovered the crew slain with numerous weapons - far to great a range to be from a single adversary. The Magistrate theorised a pirate or mercenary attack and continued the search of the vessel. In the cargo hold, the Magistrate discovered the body of a stangled woman, a body that returned to life and attacked. Through out the fight the Wretched was able to shift her strange golden weapon through multiple shapes with ease. The weapons that were used were: Paired Sai, Staff, Spear, Paired Hookswords, Barbed Chain, Seven Section Staff, Dragon Talons and a small Daiklave. It is unknown whether there are more forms that this weapon can take, however evidence of ranged and thrown weapons were discovered making this theory likely. During the battle the Wretched manifested multiple styles of Martial Arts including the closely guarded Water Dragon Form of the Immaculate Order.
After a failed attempt at netting the Wretched with the spell Shackles of Doom, Tepet Anona was assaulted by a bird spirit sighted spying on the group previously. It apologised politely before striking with a painful yet ultimately harmless attack. In the distraction the Magistrate's attack was interfered with by Anona's malfunctioning spell and with a powerful Water Dragon Form combo the Anathema was able to finish him. Ordering Magpie and Anona to escape, the Magistrate siezed the Wretched by the throat and poured the last of his essence into a final Dragon Vortex Attack, holding the Wretched in the center of a powerful tornado of elemental crystal shards. The Anathema was subsequently killed.
The Wretched is of above average height, towering over Anona by nearly a half foot and dwarfing Magpie by more. She is trim and athletic, however the fleeting signs of a comfortable life still show around her waist and legs. Her hair is grey-blonde and has largely been cut short since the first encounter on the Winters Clover. Like her hair, her eyes are of a greyish hue. Her dress is usually clothing that allows for easy movement and she has thus far not been seen in any kind of armour to date. Colours are usually cool, tending towards blues and greys that blend easily with most surroundings. Her feet are either bare or in thin-soled slippers.
