Abyssal Endurance Charms by CrownedSun
Death-Cheating Technique
Cost: None Duration: Permanent Type: Special Minimum Endurance: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Ox-Body Technique
Most Abyssals fear death greatly, and this fear is what spurred them to accept their Black Exaltation in the first place. Many are aware of their ultimate fate following death, while others simply have no desire to find out. Abyssals with this Charm are more successful at staving off death than many, should worse come to worse. The Abyssal adds 3 Incapacitated wound levels to his chart, and one additional Incapacitated wound level per point of permanent Essence. Should the character's Essence increase after purchasing this charm, he gains the accompanying health levels. Any Exalt who has taken damage past his first Incapacitated wound level appears dead to most observers, with only a detailed examination revealing otherwise. Even then a successful Intelligence + Medicine roll with a difficulty equal to the Abyssals Essence rating. These additional wound levels cannot be healed by any magic, drug or charm – only time will result in the removal of this damage, until the Abyssal has recovered to his natural Incapacitated level. Until that time, he is effectively dead.
