Reputation Charms
Ox-Body Technique
Cost: None Type:: Special Duration: Permanent Minimum Reputation: 1 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisites: None
It takes more to kill a hero than a mere mortal. For each purchase of this Charm, the character adds one -0 health level and one -4 health level. This Charm may be purchased a number of times equal to the character's Reputation. Each time, it adds more health levels.
Ignorance of Pain Technique
Cost: None Type:: Special Duration: Permanent Minimum Reputation: 3 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Ox-Body Technique
Wounds do not slow the valiant hero. With this Charm, the character treats all wound levels as though they were one level less for the purpose of wound penalties and speed penalties. (For example, -4s are treated as -2s, -2s as -1s,and -1s as -0s.) If the character is Incapacitated, she may take action at -4, but doing do applies an automatic level of lethal damage to them.
Awe-Inspiring Stance
Cost: 6 motes Type:: Simple Duration: One Scene Minimum Reputation: 2 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisites: None
A true hero is one that inspires awe in those that watch him. For the duration of the scene, the character adds her Essence to all die rolls that are based on Charisma or Appearance. This bonus counts towards any die maximums applied by other die-adder Charms.
Larger-Than-Life Technique
Cost: 5 motes, 1 Willpower Type:: Reflexive Duration: One Scene Minimum Reputation: 3 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Awe-Inspiring Stance
With a simple look, a hero can part the crowd. The character must be actively using her Reputation to use this Charm. For its duration, anyone who wishes to oppose the character must succeed at a Willpower roll at difficulty 2 in order to do so. They need only roll once per scene.
Leading By Example Method
Cost: 8 motes, 1 Willpower Type:: Reflexive Duration: One Scene Minimum Reputation: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Larger-Than-Life Technique
The character throws herself into a situation, giving strength and hope to those that follow her. The character must be actively taking part in a task in order to activate this Charm. This can be anything from 'fighting' to 'building a temple'. Everyone working on the task alongside the character, up to (her Essence x50) people, adds +1 to a single Virtue of the character's choice and +1 to their Willpower, which also adds a temporary Willpower point that may be spent at any time during the scene.
Demonstration of Superiority Method
Cost: 1 mote per success Type:: Reflexive Duration: Instant Minimum Reputation: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Awe-Inspiring Stance
A character's reputation is not founded on empty promises. The character may activate this Charm whenever she is taking an action that her Reputation says she is good at. She may convert up to her Reputation in dice into automatic successes.
Against All Odds Method
Cost: 1 mote per die Type:: Reflexive Duration: Instant Minimum Reputation: 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisites: Demonstration of Superiority Method
True heroes excel when placed in the most dire of situations. The character may activate this Charm whenever she is in a direct opposed action against someone else, and she has fewer dice than her opponent's die pool, including Charms. The character may purchase extra dice up to her Reputation + Essence, but may not exceed her opponent's die pool. This Charm must be activated after all other die adders have been activated.
Inspiration of Victory Technique
Cost: 4 motes per success, 1 Willpower Type:: Simple Duration: One Scene Minimum Reputation: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisites: Against All Odds Method, Leading By Example Technique
With a stirring speech, the character leads a group into a situation that they should not be able to handle, and they do. This Charm may be activated in any situation where the character and up to (her Essence x50) companions are competing or opposing another group and appear to be outmatched. For every 3 motes spent, everyone affected converts one die to an automatic success on rolls directly against the chosen group. The character may not purchase more successes than her Essence.
Stone-Skinned Hero Prana
Cost: 2 motes per point Type:: Simple Duration: One Scene Minimum Reputation: 3 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisites: Awe-Inspiring Stance
A great hero need not fear injury. With the purchase of this Charm, the character buys points of soak for the scene. For each 2 motes spent, the character gains 2 Bashing soak and 1 lethal soak. The character may not spend more motes to purchase soak than her Reputation + Essence. This Charm functions normally with armour.
Untouchable Mastery Technique
Cost: 1 mote per point Type:: Simple Duration: One Scene Minimum Reputation: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisites: Stone-Skinned Hero Prana
True heroes cannot be killed through simple means. With the activation of this Charm, the character may purchase Hardness - each mote spent increases her Hardness by 1. The character may not increase her hardness by more than her Reputation + Essence, nor may she apply Hardness above her soak.
Invunerable Hero Understanding
Cost: 6 motes, 1 Willpower Type:: Reflexive Duration: Instant Minimum Reputation: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisites: Untouchable Mastery Technique
The best heroes know that attacks will simply brush off them, leaving them untouched. The character may activate this Charm in response to any attack, after other attempts to defend have failed. All damage and damage-based effects of the attack automatically fail; the character takes no damage from any part of it. This is a perfect soak effect. This defense has no effect on any attack effects not based on damage.
