Springbok have a short cinnamon colored coat with a wide dark brown stripe sepetating the white belly. The head has white and dark brown markings resembling the gazelle. The horns on males are lyre shaped and grow to to just over one foot long. Sprinkbok stott like gazelle and can reach heights of up to 11 feet per leap. They are well adapted to arid conditions and can regulate the amount of water lost allowing them to live in the drier conditions of the South.
