Example Malfaen Charms
These are small charms that have their origin in the new Abyssal craft charm that I (CrownedSun) created, Idle Hands Technique. Depending on the results of a Per+Whispers roll, the charm can create a Level 1 or a Level 2 artifact of some small power. Here, then, are some examples of these artifacts.
It should be noted that the charm itself is not under the strict control of the Abyssal, and these are just examples.
I invite people to add their own example artifacts, if they want. Be sure to take credit for them, however.
Lesser Malfaen Charms
All Lesser Malfaen Charms should be fairly strong Artifact 1's
Horrid Statuette Craft: Sculpture
A Horrid Statuette is a tiny figurine, of usually about the size of one's hand or a bit larger, carved out of various dark woods gathered in shadowlands and dark places. It usually requires 15 successes to build, with a number of non-artifact statuettes being cast off. While all of these statuettes are quite unsettling to look upon, there is something particularly...wrong...with the horrid statuette. When given as a gift, the Horrid Statuette is nearly impossible to get rid of -- given away, thrown into a lake, burned in a fireplace. It will always find it's way back appearing whole and unharmed when the bearer least expects it. Prolonged exposure can lower a subject's Temperance rating, or give them a derangement of some kind. It requires Occult 4 to successfully ward off a Horrid Statuette, with three successes required on the roll.
Greater Malfaen Charms
All Greater Malfaen Charms should be fairly weak Artifact 2's
Hungry Biting Sword (Statistics) Spd +5, Acc +2, Damage +5L, Def +0, Rate 2 Craft: Weaponsmithing
This ugly serrated chopping sword is made of a dark shadowy-looking steel, and appears even larger than most chopping swords. It's also quite vicious in battle, inflicting hideous cuts on it's enemies. These wounds bleed at a rate of one health level every five rounds unless treated, and are at +1 difficulty to close through all methods (even an Exalt's willpower roll). The blade itself is completely covered in gore after only a few hits, but always appears clean and sparkling after a few minutes of no use.
