Elemental Realignment Prana
Cost: 4 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One day Type: Simple Minimum Lore: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Elemental Empowerment Meditation
Dragon-Blooded who come close to the pinnacles of mastery and understanding realize that the elemental aspects are merely different configurations of the same power. This can be forcibly reconfigured and effectively changes the Dragon-Blooded’s Aspect temporarily.
The Dragon-Blooded takes on all characteristics of her new Aspect when this Charm is activated, such as the anima power, how the Great Curse manifests and what Charms she pays an elemental extra charge for. Even her appearance shifts to match the new Aspect. The Charm requires a successful Essence + Lore roll at a difficulty equal to her Essence rating. Failiure inflicts a number of dice of lethal damage, soakable by natural soak only, equal to her permanent Essence rating. A botch makes the damage automatic.
Essence Disalignment Meditation
Cost: 5 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One day Type: Simple Minimum Lore: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Essence Disalignment Meditation
Dragon-Blooded may have weaker Essence than other Exalted, but this is not all bad, as their mighty Dynasties show. This Charm is another merit of weaker Essence – it can turn the relatively weaker Essence flows inwards on themselves so they temporarily cancel each other out. Most Dynasts wouldn’t want to hide their supernatural heritage, but there are those who find appearing mortal in every aspect very useful.
The Dynast must meditate deeply for a few undisturbed moments. She must then succeed on an Essence + Lore roll at a difficulty of her own permanent Essence. If she does, every trace of her Dragon-Blooded heritage fades, while failiure means the turn is wasted, although not the Essence or Willpower. Even the elemental appearance shifts to mundane variations of mortal appearance. For all practical purposes, the Dynast has an Essence of one. She cannot use Charms, attune to artifacts or such, although her innate Essence sense remains. All activated Charms are automatically ended by this Charm.
Cancelling this Charm prematurely is a dice action and requires the same roll as for the activation. Failiure inflicts a number of dice of lethal damage, soakable by natural soak only, equal to her permanent Essence rating. A botch makes the damage automatic.
