The Infernal coalesces stinging, foul mists about him, and wretches into their midst. The bile never hits the ground; instead, guided by the Infernal's foul Essence, it ignites the clouds about it and wells into form as another figure. Its physical Attributes are equal to the Exalt's Wrath+Essence, social Attributes equal to his Lust+Essence, mental Attributes equal to his Pride+Essence. However, they are a hollow reflection of his own despicable nature, lacking Abilities, Sins or Willpower of their own, and have a permanent Essence of 1. They move as quickly as the best steeds regardless of terrain, floating, burning or dancing across difficult terrain, and make no noise as they move. Their form may be that of any creature, typically reflecting their attributes; those with high physical Attributes appear as beasts, those of high social Attributes as people, and those of high Mental attributes as abstract monstrosities. Regardless, their demonic nature is apparent through the cornucopia of distortions to their form and ill omens that surround them. Storytellers may give them special abilities dependant on their shape, although this is purely at their discretion. | The Infernal coalesces stinging, foul mists about him, and wretches into their midst. Ride Charms
The theme for this Charm tree is dominance over animals and humans alike.
Pouring Silken Whispers
- Cost: Varies
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Supplemental
- Minimum Ride: 2
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: None
The Infernal masks his words and actions, arguments heard as his subject's own; so entranced, even the mightiest beast or sternest opponent cannot discredit them. For every 3 motes the Infernal spends, he may reduce the difficulty of a test to break an animal or reduce another person's Virtue for the purposes of opposed rolls.
Anchoring Glass Pinions
- Cost: 4 motes, 1 Willpower
- Duration: Indefinate
- Type: Simple
- Minimum Ride: 3
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Pouring Silken Whispers
As he gains dominion over another, the Infernal closes his hands about their throat; a collar of greasy film is briefly seen, before fading to all but sorcerous sight. This Charm may only be used on an animal the Infernal has broken, or a person the Infernal has gained dominion over in some fashion - this control becomes permanent. A broken animal remains faithful, regardless of how mistreated it is. A subordinate continues to serve the Exalt, regardless of what their positions may become. A lover keeps their passion for him, regardless of being spurned or abused. Should they ever urge against this control, they feel a tightening about their throat and an instinctual panic that prevent them from acting accordingly. Only the release of the Charm or the Infernal's death will release this ephemereal bridle. Exalts and other magical beings targeted by this Charm may spend a point of temporary Willpower; doing so negates the Charm's effect and renders them immune to it for a year and a day thereafter.
Dragon And Princess Kinship
- Cost: 5 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Simple
- Minimum Ride: 4
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Anchoring Glass Pinions
In such skewed relationships that Infernals form, it is little wonder that some of their thought should trickle down. This Charm may be used on anyone or anything presently bound to the Infernal by Anchoring Glass Pinions, and means they will act as the Infernal himself would on the matter. Once the scene concludes, their mode of thought returns to normal. In the hands of an implaceable rider, a steed could be unperturbed by the most horrific sights; in the grasp of a remorseless manipulator, a politician could be prone to the most craven forms of corruption.
Boiling Shadow Manifest
- Cost: 4 motes, 1 health level
- Duration: Indefinite
- Type: Simple
- Minimum Ride: 3
- Minimum Essence: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: Anchoring Glass Pinions
With a howl of rage, the Infernal stamps on the floor. It cracks along his shadow, and from those cracks rises a steed. They resemble conventional horses only from a distance, each coloured by the Exalt's hatred and bearing the unnatural markings of their nature. They are no demon, but a reflection of his vindiction and loathing. Their physical attributes are equal to the Infernal's Wrath+Essence. They possess attacks equivalent to a warhorse, adjusted to their new attributes and abilities. Their other attributes and permanent Essence are counted as 1, and they have no Abilities. They have no Willpower or Sins of their own, instead responding as their masters do. They always count as extras. Despite this, they are fast as the quickest horse, silent in movement and as fearless as their rider. When the Charm is released, the horse bubbles away to clear vapor, the Exalt's shadow returning to its normal shape once more.
Smoke And Bile Incarna
- Cost: 12 motes, 1 lethal health level
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Simple
- Minimum Ride: 5
- Minimum Essence: 4
- Prerequisite Charms: Dragon And Princess Kinship, Boiling Shadow Manifest
