The oryx's dusty gray coat is seperated from the white belly by a thin black stripe. Black markings are on its legs and face as well. The horns are straight and grow to 4 feet long. This animal has the ability to raise its temperature to match the surrounding limiting its water loss. They live on grasslands and deserts of the Southeast and South in herds of up to 40 animals.
