- Ugly, characters must make a difficulty 3 Brawn + Might (Resist Stench) roll, or suffer a +1 Difficulty penalty to all actions due to nausea. Characters who survive several encounters are eventually immune.
- Zombies are the mainstay of the armies of the dead amongst the living. While they are amazingly sturdy troops, their intellect is depressingly lacking. They will tear off nearly any armor, and are too stupid to know how to use any sort of weapon. In addition, after several months, their flesh decays to the point where they can no longer remain animate without further, more serious magics.

- While discovered long ago, skeletons have, until recently, been exceedingly rare. Not until the arrival of the Abyssals has any force been able to erect these troops in an appreciable number. While still exceedingly stupid, skeletons have much less of a need to feast on fallen foes, making them easier to coordinate.

- While potent, hungry ghosts are difficult to control and, obviously, are completely unsuited to extended excursions into the untainted lands of Creation, unless hitching a ride on zombie bodies.

- In the Underworld and in Shadowlands, War Ghosts are the main troops of the armies of the dead. Ghosts with the ability to materialize in Creation are rare, however, and those who can do so for an extended period are rarer still. Thus, these War Ghosts are largely unknown in the lands of the living.

- Essence 3 Hungry Ghosts gain +2 Brawn, +1 Dex, Presence, Intelligence, Wits, Natural, Subterfuge, War, +4L to Claw and Bite Damage (for +6L total with their increased Brawn), +1 to Claw and Bite Accuracy and Defense, and another six Arcanoi or Talents, in addition to the Essence 2 bonus.
