Hrm, this is a question I had been pondering (in part, because I'm working on a selection of Abyssal power armor, which includes some form of fate-shielding function), and is much what I came up with. What I figured is that, while the Abyssals themselves are subject to fate, they serve, and often act at the direct behest, of beings that aren't. This creates a situation that, when trying to divine an Abyssal's actions, there are "gaps" from these unseen influences. FGoS
