A couple ideas I'm working on, and will hopefully get to working on soon. Hopefully.
Factory-Cathedrals
I love the idea of these. It reminds me overmuch of the Hammerite forges from Thief, and I love Thief. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then shame on you, taffer! Find a Thief game and play it.
Basically what I'd like to come up with are some of the different devices one might find in one of these, Orichalcum refineries, rooms where the Lunar mates of the Solars could work their Moonsilver, different forging devices depending on what's being made. Most of the things being powered would probably one require a hearthstone, and I've got some ideas, eventually I'll get around to formalizing them.
Idea #1: 8 bars of Black Jade with moonsilver cores hang in a circle around an enchanted, shallow but wide vat where smelted materials are held when about to be worked with. The first bar is 8 feet long and 1 foot think. Each bar then gets slighty shorter and thinner than the last, much like a set of chimes. The fluid properties of moonsilver and water(as represented by the Black Jade) allow for the working of the material in the vat. The great chimes are controlled from a control station outside the circle. The controller can choose which chimes resonate and at what frequncy. The mechanical effect is something akin to Craftsman Needs No Tools. The materials in the vat are worked by controlling the chimes. Also, because of the shape of the vat, it could also be used as a pedestal for solid materials. Mostly it was used for working with hazardous materials or very enstable artifacts. The control station requires a level 3 hearthstone and 10 motes committed.
Scorpion Style
Well, so much for that. I put all the effects I wanted in, and other than the dual-wielding bits because the style uses paired sias, I had Snake Style! Ba na na! Scratching this idea. I'll just play a Snake stylist should I ever get the chance to play again.
Malfean Scriptures
Linked to YoziSymbolicReality in the thought that every living Yozi is linked to one of the scriptures. If this is true, what about the scriptures of the Malfeans? I'd like to think that they're etched into the silent tombs of the beasts, and in fact that's the line they all start with, changed as they were by their deaths. "There once was a beast..." I'll try writing some tonight and see how many I can get rolling.
Comments
Though I had said Yozi, I really should have said Primordials... But, that's part of what I meant... that the lines would change with their death. (and remember the idea that if death changes the scripture, maybe changing the scripture will do the reverse.) ^_^ - haren
