Celebration of Life!
Rose Defies the Night
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Performance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Memorable Performance Technique
Against the harrowing night, the rose stands strong! It is the life of a flower, to live, to stand, to perform for the Sun and the Earth with their beauty for as long as it exists. With this Charm, the character receives the endurance of a flower, and a Performance becomes as natural for them as existing. Characters who purchase Rose Defies the Night may perform for up to their Essence in hours before rolling for fatigue, and need only roll again in like intervals. Furthermore, when performing they recover essence as if they had been resting.
Your Smile is My Sun
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Performance: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Rose Defies the Night
To perform is to live. To bring beauty is purpose. To bring beauty is need. Learning the lesson of a flower's existence, the character becomes able to thrive in attention as if it was the nurturing light of the sun! As long as the character performs under an audience that does nothing else but to enjoy the performance, she doubles her healing rates and essence regeneration. Further, She appears different then, in glorious bloom under such nurturing lights! The Exalt increases her effective appearance by 1 for every 10 observers, 2 for every 100 observers, 3 for every 1,000 observers, and so on, to a maximum of her Essence score.
Blossoming Performance Exercise
Cost: 6 motes
Duration: Variable
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Rose Defies the Night
Planting both her feet on fertile earth, the Dragon-Blooded starts her performance in adagio, a slow, almost melancholic buildup to a grand blossoming. As he waits and plays his slow start, his feet sink to the earth, and from the earth and his body a great many flowers begin to bloom, a great many vines and branches begin to rise... forming a standard, a banner, a throne for the great performer to start, a dozen different colors and types of flowers fitting the performance and personality of the character and heightening his attraction to impossible levels! For every turn spent in wait, the character gains one die environmental bonus to his performance(which in this instance does not count against the limit of dice added with Charms). The character may not wait more turns before the Performance starts - and is finally rolled - than her Permanent Essence score. In addition, any character who watches the buildup in wait for more turns than their Temperance score must succeed on a Temperance roll not to be totally, utterly taken by the character, enthralled beyond the understanding of the world outside, and may be convinced or seduced by the character without a roll.
Winter Blossom Whisper
Cost: 6 motes
Duration: Variable
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Protective Performance
The core of an Emerald Dragoness is empathy. Through it, they heal. Through it, they understand. Through it, they tame. Through it, they affect others with a thousand beautiful arts! Through it Emerald Dragons may make seeds blossom into beautiful sunflowers even in the harshest winter! Using their magic to quicken life within their audience, the Dragon-Blooded performs, and all those who watch have their healing rates and essence recovery rates multiplied by the Dragon-Blooded's Essence, adding the same number as dice for all Endurance and Resistance rolls they have to make in this period. This Charm may be maintained as long as the Dragon-Blooded performs, but it must be remembered that dancing or playing is an extraneous activity, and fatigue rolls should be required in increasingly shorter intervals.
Amazing Grace
Weeping Willow Dance
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Performance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Memorable Performance Technique
The willow is struck by winds, flailing wildly... but even under the harshest winds of summer, it always makes sure its swaying movements are graceful poetry! They become part of the Spring Petal Dance, and impart on it the lessons of grace and technique. This Charm enhances the Anima of Wood-Aspected Dragon-Blooded. After its purchase the character is able to use its Essence bonus to enhance Performance in addition to Athletics and Dodge, and to make reflexive Athletics actions.
Flower Crowns the Garden
Cost: 1 mote per 2 dice, +1 mote per ally
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 4
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Memorable Performance Technique
Much like a single radiant flower may be the crown of a garden and make everything else seem spectacular by comparison, making it seem like it all bends around it and brings it to the fore, so many the character make all of his companions more spectacular by his very presence! This Charm may empower one ally per mote spent, to a maximum of allies equal to the Chosen's Permanent Essence. The Chosen must spend extra motes to increase their Performance, by two dice per mote spent. Autumn Reed Dance
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Flower Crowns the Garden
A falling leaf is unpredictable. They move in the wind seeming of their own volition, moving always where one never expect. One day, they will touch the ground... but until they do, they will sway, untouched by all! This Charm enhances Flower Crowns the Garden, imparting the performers the fleetness of the Autumn Reed Dance if the character pays 1 extra willpower when enacting the Charm All those affected by this Charm may use their additional Performance dice as a Dodge bonus(granting a reflexive Dodge with that amount of dice if there is no pool.) against all attacks, whether or not they are aware of them.
Kaleidoscopic Spring Step
Cost: 4 motes, 1 willpower +1 mote per subject
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Enchanting Performance, Flower Crowns the Garden
Moving with the grace of Sextes Jylis, the character brings life to her every action! Her living, breathing, all of her becomes grand, sensational, beautiful, making all life around him rejoice! Every step blooms peonies underfoot! Every jump leaves a trail of cherry blossoms! Every strike grows a thorny rose upon a wound! Every terrifying smile blossoms deadly belladonnas on the hair! For the rest of the scene, the character adds +1 die to every stunt(not counting towards the actual stunt 'level', including regeneration) and receives 1 extra mote for every stunt performed. There are many different types of Performances, and when this Charm is used, the character chooses whether to dance to a violent, graceful or nimble one! Upon activation of this Charm, the character chooses one of Athletics, Dodge and Martial Arts Abilities; For the remainder of the Charm's duration, the character may use the Performance Ability in place of this Ability for all rolls. The character may extend the benefits of this Charm to a number of companions equal to her Essence, but they must have a minimum of two dots in the Performance Ability to benefit from it. This Charm cannot be used in the Underworld, for there is no life to rejoice or celebrate at its beauty.
Infinite Spring Symphony
Cost: 10 motes, 1 willpower +1 mote per Turn
Duration: Variable
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Protective Performance, Flower Crowns the Garden
With an emerald whisper, the character plants the seeds of a great story. Like gardens, stories are made of many disparate elements, joining to form a whole whose beauty hides peril, terror and skill! Conveyed through dance or chant or instrument or any other method the Terrestrial finds acceptable, this story changes the hearts and minds of those who listen to it, who become part of it, petals of its many different flowers, bolstered by its elements to carry out the will of the Elemental Dragons! Terrestrial Exalted who know Infinite Spring Symphony may bolster their allies in a myriad of ways. Upon learning this Charm the character learns one Seed, one of many ways to bolster their allies, and may acquire more by paying 4 exp per extra seed. Those cost points, coming at the 1-point, 2-point and the greatest, 4-point seeds.
When the Infinite Spring Symphony begins to be sung, the character rolls Charisma+Performance at standard difficulty. He then distributes as many points among seeds as he had successes in the roll! Those bonuses apply to all allies who can perceive the Dragon-Blooded's Performance. The Performance needs to be maintained, however. Every turn, the Dragon-Blooded must pay 1 additional mote and succeed in a Charisma+Performance roll at standard difficulty to maintain the Symphony(and only to maintain it; Only the original roll determines its elements, which remain the same for the duration of the symphony). If the character cannot pay the mote cost, becomes unable to take the Charisma+Performance action or fails in its roll, the Charm immediately ends.
Seeds
Seeds are stories. When the character enacts the Infinite Spring Symphony, he gathers many of them and plants his own garden, seeing which bloom and which wither on the harsh weather of a cynical Creation. This represents the malleability of the Emerald Dragons; every time, they create new and fantastic stories with similar materials, in the same way that a single garden is not the same from a month to the next! Seeds can only be planted once per symphony, unless otherwise noted.
1-Point Seeds
- Fortress of Unending Bamboo:
- The tale of the bamboo fortress is that of the untouchable fortress of the East, entwined bamboo alone creating a rampart not even the greatest armies of the fae could destroy! Those touched by this seed have their own flesh become as the bamboo! They add +1L/+1B to their Natural Soak. A 2-point Seed adds +2L/+2B to their Natural Soak. This Seed may be used twice.
- The (Virtuous) Bride in Lily:
- The tale of the bride in lily is that of virtue and honor in the face of the greatest lust, of the dimmest odds. Those touched by this seed add one dice to the roll of a single Virtue. This Seed may be used twice per Virtue.
- Thousand-Petaled Chrysanthemum:
- The tale of the heavenly chrysanthemum tells of its ten thousand petals, one for each and every Chosen of the Dragons, and no matter how many fell, there would be more! Those touched by this seed have it blossom on their souls, giving them more petals to lose. They receive one -0 Health Level(including extras). This Health Level is the first to be lost, and does not regenerate. A 2-Point Seed adds two -1 Health Levels. This Seed may be used twice.
- Hallowed Thistle Blade:
- The tale of the Hallowed Thistle Blade is terrible in its evil, but it protected its nation and destroyed all the evil that crept against it! Deadly like the Thistle Blade, those touched by this seed receive +1 to their damage. A 2-Point Seed adds +2 to their damage. This Seed may be used twice.
- Burning Carnation Binding:
- The tale of the Carnation Scarves tells of the Thirteen-Sided Marriage of all entwined with it! Those touched by this seed receive +1 to all rolls relating to relationships, long-term business and other binding affairs. This Seed may be used up to three times.
2-Point Seeds
- March of Bamboo Spiders:
- Bamboo bends, but never breaks! It is flexible, and in its movements, lashes back to leave terrible stars! This tale is that of the Bamboo Spiders of Nara-O, who marched against the Swarm-That-Is-The-Mountain! Those touched by this seed receive +1 to their Accuracy and Defense scores. This Seed may be used twice.
- Jasmine Sunlight:
- Jasmine was held to the sun by The Fallen Prince, and while it burnt with his wings, the sun shone with the light and incense of jasmine, bringing love to the world! Those touched by this seed add their compassion to all rolls related to love. If they channel their virtue, this bonus is doubled.
- Burning Lotus Brooch:
- The Burning Lotus brooch brought the bloom of its wearers from beyond the mud of Creation! Those touched by this seed are above the dirty world, and receive the performer's Essence in dice to resist poison, disease, alcohol and other impurities.
- Golden Orchid Bloom:
- The golden orchid bloom brings perfection to the movements of all! Those touched by this seed add 1 dice to all their rolls when they stunt, and 1 mote to the mote regeneration of stunts.
- Rose-Red Dance:
- The Rose-Red dance rouses passion even within the heart of the most chaste! Those touched by this seed increase the difficulty of all Temperance rolls by 1. This targets all those who can perceive the performance, but the performer can exempt his allies from it.
- Undying Violet Scarves:
- With the purity and honesty of violets, those scarves kept council of Delehezen perpetually level-headed. Set the difficulty of all virtue rolls to standard, requiring only one success to suceed.
- Orchard of Rosemary Diaries:
- Planted in rememberance of a city lost in a great war, it soon grew to encompass memories of all the dead in that bloody conflict! Those touched by this seed will always remember everything from the events transpired during the performance. This specifically applies against Arcane Fate.
- Rose-Yellow Rain:
- In a fall of those jealous petals, everything but petty concerns lose their significance, and the truth of life escapes one's eye! Those touched by this seed increase the difficulty of all Awareness rolls by 2. This targets all those who can perceive the performance, but the performer can exempt his allies from it.
4-Point Seeds
4-Point Seeds are Themes. They are the Underlying theme of the symphony. Each Symphony choice may only have one such!
- Falling Nightshade Scythe:
- This tale is that of the Wu-Shi dynasty, enamored of the deadly nightshade and embroiled in their draconian intrigues, who poisoned by each other in a banquet from which no living walked out. All those touched by this seed add Court Poison effect to their attacks. If those attacks are already poisoned, they may choose which to use upon successfully striking their opponent.
- Infinite Irisdescence Blade:
- This is the tale of an Exalt who was all colors and none, a Chosen who brought swift death to all she met, but could never find whats he really wished to destroy! All attacks by those touched by this seed become Piercing.
- Rose-White Dress:
- The dress of white roses protected chastity, warded desire, beyond everything! Those touched by this seed receive a single automatic success on all Temperance rolls.
- The Seven Juniper Veils:
- The seven juniper veils protected a maiden from the advances of all of the Cerulean host for a year and a day! Those protected by the Seven Juniper Veils add the Performer's Essence to the difficulty of all attempts to mentally influence them. This adds to the static traits to resist effects such as Glamour.
One may only benefit from one such symphony per dot of Permanent Essence, and thus the Realm Legions gifted enough to possess more than one such virtuoso only have one doing such performances during their campaigns. here was a Sworn Brotherhood where all were virtuosos in the symphony, however, and all of them used it together, becoming, as the Dragon-Blooded tend to, more than the sum of the parts!
Gardener of Infinity Prana
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Performance: 6
Minimum Essence: 6
Prerequisite Charms: Infinite Spring Symphony
A skillful gardener can change the course of even the Garden of Infinite Spring. Cutting the right branches, changing the a flower's places, exchanging places of shadows and sun... with but a few skillful movements, the Garden changes completely! Prayer
Elemental Convocation Aria
Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Variable
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Enchanting Performance
The character lays on a place sanctified by her anima and a few droplets of her most Exalted blood, and begins to perform. A performance so enchanting and breathtaking that nature itself weeps, drawing all elemental nearby to come and watch. The character rolls her Charisma+Performance, and all Elementals with less Essence than the number of successes on this roll within the Chosen's Essence in miles will come, as fast as they can, to witness the Performance. After getting there, however, they are free to revolt against the character or, by a simple action and a successful willpower roll at standard difficulty, leave. This Charm only lasts as long as the character remains performing. If she stops before any elementals get to her, they will just turn around on the way.
... now if I would only remember what else I was gonna put on this Tree...
Life's Big Stage!
Roses for Clovers Method
Cost: 3+ motes
Duration: Indefinite
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Faces in the Garden Method
For those who lack knowledge, it is hard to tell flowers apart. Rarities and wonders pass by their sight, and they are never the wiser. Shifting petals and dyes and using natural materials for disguise, the character can impart his mastery of the elements upon another, either hiding Elemental Markings from a character, or adding some where none exist. By paying 1 extra mote per dot, the character may also increase(or decrease, if necessary) a Dragon-Blood's apparent Breeding Background. This Charm may be pierced by a close physical exam taking a few turns and requiring a Perception+Investigation roll at a difficulty of 2. This physical exam is always required before marrying members of the Dynasty.
Thousand-Dragon Drama Dance
Cost: 5 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One Performance
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Roses for Clovers Method, Dance of Flashing Swords
With mastery of the stage, the character can bring all terrestrial elements to play for his audience! Movements leave leaves, fire bursts over the stage as if it was doused with alcohol, water dances around them, winds buffets hair just right, whistling enigmatically! Those are true elements, flame burns and water leaves one soaked, but they are used in an almost harmless way - even fire covering one's clothes can be avoid and put off with but a reflexive Wits+Athletics roll at standard difficulty. The elements vanish as soon as the character wishes them to. Using such affects requires the character to be part of a performance, with an audience, and to pay 1 mote per effect(3 motes when channeling an element other than the character's own native one). On the upside, the character adds his Essence in dice to his Performance dice pool for all rolls as long as this Charm is active. On the unlikely situation where a character engages in a real conflict while engaged in his performance, he may pay 1 mote to give an enemy a 2-dice environmental penalty for the turn due to the distracting elemental outbursts.
