Background
Hidden Ash was born to a fairly successful caravan family in the south. His mother died giving birth to him and his father never remarried. As the only child Ash, as he likes to be called was taught how to manage the business. Ash’s heart was never truly into it however and he would skip his lessons to hang out with the caravan’s guards who would tell him stories of Dragon-Blooded and Barbarians. Ash was obsessed with the Dragon-Blooded and attached himself to an old mercenary captain who was rumored to have fought with the Dragon-Blooded during his many campaigns. After a while since Ash’s father was busy most of the time the captain became some what of a father figure to Ash.
As Ash came of age he was given a sword on his first caravan journey because he would have made the trip a living hell for his father if he did not carry a weapon. When the caravan came under attack Ash proved to be a natural swordsman claiming two barbarians. The mercenary captain was so impressed he started teaching the boy how to really use a sword. Ash’s father for the most part was supportive of this idea since it gave the caravan a reputation of being a suicide mission if you tried to raid it. It went like this “the caravan is so well guarded that the merchant’s boy can even kill you!” Ash soon started to show off, and has yet to ever stop. Ash never was beaten in a dual by anyone except for the mercenary captain. His ego skyrocketed and this has yet to have fallen as well.
Ash exalted on his father’s caravan’s last journey. It was suppose to be an easy route so most of the men stayed at the last stop including the mercenary captain. The caravan was attacked by dune people; they killed everyone in the caravan except for Ash. Ash had been knocked unconscious and the Dune people had decided to play with him by chasing him into the desert. Ash had no idea how long he ran in till he finally fell over and could run no more. Ash knew that a practically gruesome death awaited him, but he just smiled and looked up at the sun and said, “Looks like I’m all dried up, what do you say about that?” Then the Unconquered Sun spoke to him. “I have long abandoned this world, but I will not abandon you my son. Arise and become my warrior and spread justice into the world as you see fit.”
After Ash “took care of” the tribe of dune people he was at a loss on what to do next. As a Dawn he was sure the world needed him he was certain of that and he would not let them down. Ash decided to go and find his old mentor who now resides in Chiaroscuro. Unknown to Ash the tribe had a minor god as their patron and it wondered what had happened to its followers. The spirit would have never had met an exalt before and later confronted Ash. Ash would explain what happened and explain to the god if it had a problem it could "try its luck against Ash". The spirit thinks Ash is amusing (or just does not want to meet the same fate as it's dead followers) and gives Ash a Daiklave as a sign of friendship between the two.
Ash is very cocky and becoming a chosen of the Sun has not helped that at all. He is also a bit of a showman and strives to be the center of attention when he thinks he is about to do something impressive. Which is just about everything he does in his opinion. Ash finds humor in just about everything and usually makes fun of just about anything. Ash is a good natured guy however so all the things he does are generally in jest. He does have a hard time taking things seriously preferring to see his life like the Dragon-Blooded stories he grew up on. Ash for all his cockiness and the belief that he is the one that is going to save creation is incredibly unsmooth around women.
Ash’s skill, grace, and hand eye coordination seems to disappear entirely when he runs into women. To make matters worst he tends to try and go out of his way when he thinks they are in trouble, which most of the time they can handle themselves just fine. It’s not like he thinks women are helpless he just thinks he has to do something incredibly impressive to make a woman look his way. To top that off Ash’s fascination with the Dragon-Blooded has not died down in fact it has intensified. He desperately wants to see how he matches up against a Dragon-Blood.
Ash is uncertain what he wants to do with his new found powers but he defiantly knows he wants to do something truly heroic that people will talk about for years. Oh and it would not hurt if it made the world a better place.
