Words from the World
Cost: 1 mote Type: Reflexive Duration: Instant Min Linguistics: 3 Min Essence: 2 Pre-Requisite Charms: Wind-Carried Words Technique
As air is ever-present, surrounding and embracing all the world, those who master it can have the appearance of being everywhere at once. One of the least manifestations of this control is the ability to speak from air. Any location at all may seem to be the origin of the character's voice for one completly expressed idea. The character need not see the location he is speaking from, but he must be within his Essence miles of it.
Rain Held in the Sky
Cost: 4 motes Type: Simple Duration: Until Spoken Min Linguistics: 3 Min Essence: 3 Pre-Requisite Charms: Words from the World
The Essence of the elements waits in all parts of the natural world, coiled there until called upon by outside forces. Mimicing the natural way of thins, a Terrestrial can coil his words into a bundle of elemental material. A burning candle, a metal sword, a puddle of water or a cloud in the sky can hold the words of a Dragon-Blood for up to the character's Essence in weeks. The character setting his words into the material can set a single condition for the release of the words. The condition can be as simple or complicated as the Exalted wishes. When the words are released, the motes committed to this Charm are returned and the character is made aware of both the release and the circumstances under which it occured.
Mist Snatches the Words
Cost: 1 mote per word Type: Reflexive Duration: Instant Min Linguistics: 4 Min Essence: 3 Pre-Requisite Charms: Voices on the Wind
As high wind and muffling fog can steal the words from a person's mouth, so can a properly trained Dragon-Blood. The words snatched by this Charm are heard only by the speaker and the Dragon-Blood. There is a faint puff of mist from the speaker's mouth each time a word is stolen away, which requires a reflexive Per + Awareness roll (diff 1) to spot. The character can only steal words from people he can see.
Merciless Hurricane of Voices
Cost: 5 motes, 1 willpower Type: Simple Duration: Instant Min Linguistics: 5 Min Essence: 3 Pre-Requisite Charms: Mist Snatches the Words
A pinacle of aerial and vocal mastery, a Dynast with this Charm can redirect words as he chooses. Often used to gather intelligence or as a vicious curse, the target of this Charm becomes able to hear all words spoken within a number of miles equal to the Terrestrial's Essence. These words arrive as they are spoken, often in a maddening rush. For ten turns, the target recieves a penalty to all actions equal to their Awareness, while they are still startled and confused by the assault of sound. Each turn after the ten the penalty is reduced by one, to a minimum of one. The penalty remains at -1 until the Charm is released by the Dragon-Blooded. It requires an Intelligence + Awareness roll, difficulty 4, to sort out what the various words actually are unless the target is in an area with few vocal beings.
