The Vitriolic Fountain
This manse appears to be a small, rough hewn stone castle on a small island in the southwest sea. The low parapets of stone layered with golden brass surround a courtyard filled with dead grass. In the center of the courtyard is a grand fountain made of emerald that spits a geyser a dozen meters high. The greenish water bubbles and boils as it rises, evaporating completely at the top of its arc; rather than being reclaimed by gravity, the geyser at its peak becomes an unending font of caustic and faintly yellow mist which fills the whole manse. The castle's interior walls are of the same golden brass, corroded a sickly green where they are coated in a thin layer of crystallized vitriol. Touching the walls leaves angry red welts, and at the center of the fountain lies a hearthstone that is the nature of the manse's malice.
The castle that surrounds the courtyard has many jail cells, all arrayed with windows facing into the courtyard and out over the surrounding ocean; they are designed so that the wind always pulls the foul mist into the chambers, and as the wind whistles through the windows they howl with the screams of the demon city in the wake of Hegra's passage. This produces a ten-die social attack, rolled hourly, attempting to convince those in the jail cells to succumb to derangement. TheHoverpope/VitriolicFountain/Anesca has used these chambers, with their endless pain and horror, to turn many of his former enemies mad.
Any mundane materials that enter the courtyard are worn away by the acidic mist, losing 1L/1B soak every hour until they reach 0L/0B and collapse utterly. Any living thing unattuned to the manse takes 1A environmental damage every hour, needing 3 successes on a stamina + resistance roll to reduce the damage to bashing. Any being who drinks from the waters of the fountain must make a stamina + resistance roll, difficulty 6, or take 3 automatic levels of aggravated damage as the boiling vitriol cuts through their throat and gut; if they succeed, the damage is bashing.
The Water-Cursing Emerald
Rating: 000 Aspect: Water This stone, an uncut emerald which glows faintly from the inside with a shade of green not natural to creation, seems to hiss quietly when it touches water. It has the ability to turn an amount of water no larger than a bathtub into a powerful acid if submerged in it; alternately, it can convert a glass of water to acid if its bearer touches the vessel. The acid it produces looks like water and smells only very faintly; it takes six successes on a scent based roll to note anything amiss. If the acid is drunk, the victim takes damage as per an acid bath; however, they are at a three die internal penalty to resist as the acid is in their flesh, and only natural soak and charm based soak that could reasonably be internal apply. The acid will continue to burn for three actions if ingested. If they very cautiously sip, of course, they are unlikely to take more than one lethal damage; this may impair talking until healed, of course.
