Sunjumper,
I've got a pretty decent idea of where Abyssal Charms go past Essence 5, and it isn't pretty. Right now, we have about 13 canon characters with that kind of Charm set fleshed out. In another hundred years, we might add as many as a hundred more breaking into that progression. It's insanely nightmarish.
Look at what's been hinted. Abyssals change their Appearance as they grow in power, evolving toward a level of alien montrosity or dark angelic beauty utterly abandoning any outward pretense of humanity. Many Charm trees that start with Solar analogues already wander into new and disturbing territory as they ascend. A number of permanent Charms steadily warp the bodies and minds of the Malfeans' Chosen into... something... else.
That is the beginning.
What you have now in the Abyssal book is the basic deathknight toolkit. These are the powers they develop to help them understand their changed state and play at murder. Right now, they are the reckless and melodramatic children of darkness. They are drunk on obscenity.
Wait until they grow up. Then laugh.
