You can say you blackmail Ahlat into fighting an enemy of yours. You get more xp for saying you arranged with Madame Marthesine to hide all of Ahlat's brides, and in return for their safety and rediscovery, Ahlat must slay (or cause to be slain) Lies-In-Hate. Or maybe drop hints to Ahlat as to the whereabouts of his brides and lead the Abyssal Lies-In-Hate to that location so that the one will find the other... Or maybe you want a Solar from Albin'Shar, perhaps Yari, to claim the Fortress of One Thousand Suns from the Emerald Blade? Perhaps Yari has a vision of the southern conflict and a chance for a Solar God-King to step in and bring about peace... Perhaps Yari finds travel to be a surprisingly easy and untroubled affair to the South-West... Perhaps Yari discovers the existance of, or is discovered by, the Abyssals in the region and combat ensues... Yari vs Lies-In-Hate??? Maybe you discover that the Solar shard that originally infiltrated the Fortress of Black Ice and brought about the downfall of Go-Gorunmet the Infernal... Nilus... has been reincarnated in the Solar Mettan'AKorren and perhaps there are memories left by Lytek as to the layout of the infernal Fortress that might be of assistance in it's downfall... or that by leading Mettan'AKorren to the Southwest with Yari, they could help defeat that which lies within...? Perhaps investigation of the Autochthonian encampment at the Font of Mourning, or in the rebuilt Gem uncovers the Abyssal liaison and diplomat... maybe there's some currents of distrust and unease that could be taken advantage of to turn some Alchemicals against said Abyssal... Want to do an Alchemical battle vs Abyssal???

What you cannot do is break game history - ie: The Emerald Blade is not an Abyssal, nor is she a man, nor is she any other Solar in disguise etc. Nor can you deal with Deathlords directly (by all means, sneak around and infiltrate their citadels or whatever, but no marching up to them and and saying 'please be nice'...). Nor can you uncover the great curse in a book given to you directly by the Ebon Dragon as he sucks your wobbly-bits in submission... B-)
