Ashmedai's Poetry
Well, you didn't heed the warnings, and here you are about to look at the works of poetry penned by a sentimental swordsman walking Creation like Kain in Kung-Fu, or Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, but mostly like a very sad and lonely paragon of virtue in the Second Age. Most are about women he has loved, who have subsequently died. If you want to live a life full of joy, do not stare at this man's grief.
Hope of Dawn
I hardly recognize it This place we used to dwell The echoes of your laughter No longer here will swell As I recall your face And what happened after I wait and look to the east And pray for some sign of dawn
I tried to hasten to your aid But the path, it was so long They left no sign, no token All that I found Was word that you were gone
So I walk here endlessly But always softly waiting Because I dare not mourn While there is some hope of dawn
Always promised I'd see you here Now I've lost you, and so I fear I'll never find you, wherever I go And though I love you still They left me nothing to hold in my arms And though I always will It feels so wrong This waiting here so long
A broken-hearted wanderer is all Your passing left of me But shoulders squared up strong I turn and carry on I've waited here too long
And so I must abandon you And fight against despairing For I have no time to mourn Though there is no hope of dawn

Haiku
Since all I can write in the real world seems to be humorous haiku, I have had great difficulty writing any sort of serious poetry. This is as close as I can usually get.
What remains of love- This gently fallen cinder Winking in the grass
A blossoming dream Plucked in her springtime beauty Awake to winter
