Muse of Never, Lady of the Twisted Tower

The enigmatic Lady of the Twisted Tower is often overlooked by those few that know of the Faerie Fief in the Eastern Forests, for she exists in the shadows cast by her Lord and Oath-Partner. Yet, the Muse holds secrets and lore all of her own.

Appearance

Muse of Never appears as a tall human woman of unapproachable beauty, with skin of sweet brown cream and long flowing black hair that seems cast from the finest ebony. She has deep round eyes the same pure green of an emerald, which seem to sparkle with a gems intensity, and perfect teeth that frequently frame themselves in a teasing enigmatic smile. So great is her beauty that she must hide it behind fine black dresses, draping her ample and shapely form in lace and frill to hide it from the unworthy. Madmen wander the edges of the Eastern Forests, who saw her naked form rise from a stream or a pond and were shattered by the sight.

History

Muse of Never was once one of the most beautiful of the Dozen Starlight Princesses, masters of the unknowable occult rituals beyond Creation, who entered into the Lands of Men and God in the days of the Great Contagion. With her Sisters, she fell upon the cities of the East, opening up vortexes of change and herding behemoths behind her on silver chains. She was at the lines when the Faerie broke through the lines of the Dragon-Blooded, collecting to the souls of some of the most brave Elemental Warriors in her necklace, and moved on toward the cities of the River Province. She assisted in the destruction of the city that once stands where Great Forks does now, and in the ravaging of the lands now know as the Hundred Kingdoms. She had moved to join her Sisters to tear open the Wyld in the city of Hollow, when the elements turned upon the gathered host.

The elemental onslaught was horrible, and all consuming. The earth broke apart and slammed down upon her guards, the skies rained fire upon her entourage, and the howling winds of the north pricked at her shapeless skin. So great was the force pressed against her that she was forced to take shape merely to survive, a shape with enough resilency and power to survive admist the swirling vortex of the Defenses of the Realm. With great swiftness, suddenly alone with the destruction of her entourage, she made haste to flee past the edges of Creation.

When she arrived into the untamed Wyld, she learned that her Sisters had fared better than her. They had been in the process of tearing open a hole into the Wyld, and when the Elements turned against them they had fled through the Vortex that they had created. More importantly, they had not been forced to take shape merely to survive -- and upon seeing what their sister had done, they were horrorfied and angered. In a moment, they banished her from their sight and their fellow. Soon afterwards, the Muse of Never was banished back into the lands of Creation.

She wandered the lands of East for quite some time, thinking on her once Sisters and raging at what had been done to her. Even more, she raged on the Gods and the Exalted, who had unleashed the fury against her in the first place. While great power lay at her fingertips, lessened without the assistance of her Sisters but still greater than any Petty Gods of Creation, she feared to use any of it -- knowing that if she did, the Defenses that had nearly destroyed her would strike again. Thus, instead, she moved throughout the River Province, cloaking herself in pleasant illusions and learning what she could of the lands that she had attempted to unravel. Two centuries, she wandered, learning all the lore that she could in her travels throughout Creation. Only the Blessed Isle, where the one called the Scarlet Empress reigned, did she avoid.

In time, though, she returned to the East -- for it resonated most strongly with the shape she had taken, and the powers that flowed through her soul since her entrance into Creation. Upon her return to the forest and woods, however, she found things changed. Many Fae Lords lingered on the eges of Creation, moving about to set minor baronies and fiefdoms for themselves. Most of these she ignored, seeing them as minor nobles at best and not worthy of her consideration. One, however, attracted her attention -- he was known to her, and his power had only grown during his exile from the Wylds that had been both of their home.

She watched this lord, who called himself Rising Rhapsody, for a time before she approached him. He does not know her nature, or the secret of her power and her strength. Yet, already, he is dependent upon her -- the two of them mingling power through the matrimonial rites of the Humans, both made stronger in the process. Muse of Never is content, for now, to remain in the background -- a lady, of little importance. Yet, much like the mortal women whom seen in a hundred kingdoms along the Inner Sea, she whispered into the ears of her Lord and directed him to the fruit that she saw as the most tempting. Not directing, but influencing, his hand.
