The best thing that Exalted has going for it continuity-wise is the fact that smart people don't change what is already cool, and Exalted is loaded to the gills with cool. Of course, different people have different ideas about what is cool, so when I do something like reconceptualize the Jadeborn because I think I can do better, it will irritate those who had other expectations.

Continuity is important. Nothing should be changed solely for the sake of change. But given the choice between continuity and niftyness that manages to make a lot of prior truths into Obi-Wan truths, I'll go with the latter. That's my design aesthetic: cool wins. It's kind of like stunts, actually. Never mind that there wasn't a tapestry hanging there. If you want to jump over, grab the fabric and swing to snatch your friend out of danger below, then damn it, there IS a tapestry there just for that purpose. I dramatic edit canon when dramatic and hope I get stunt dice.

I'm not exactly sure what he means by Obi-Wan truths, but it feels right, somehow. - DigitalSentience
