The Horde

South of the Maruto River, at the Southeastern tip of the Scavenger Lands, one finds the jungles of the Horde. This area is unstable and frequently overrun with waves of Wyld activity; when these activities reach their peak, the area spews forth a screaming horde of barbarians to lay waste to the southern Scavenger Lands, pressing civilization to its limits.

The nature of these creatures constantly changes, ranging from pseudo-Mongol humans to orcs to gibbering flesh-monstrosities, to spider-men to cat-rat-cow crossbreeds. The only constant is that they are a gibbering horde which can be slaughtered guilt-free for the XP, unless you happen to be one of those persnickety people who insists on playing a raging maniac, in which case they are honorable warriors disgusted by the softness of the Scavenger Lands, where people ACTUALLY BATHE and don't EAT THEIR OLD AND DYING RELATIVES. Such weaklings are honest fodder for honorable barbarian warriors to kill for the XP.

In whatever form, the Horde always lacks cuteness, and its members never Exalt unless you want them to in order to make your plot work or make one of your players SHUT UP without you having to kill them and bury them behind the forge because they want to play an astronaut in your Exalted game.

We all know that guy.

Anyway, the Horde exists to define one of the nadirs of UNCUTENESS. Their uncuteness means they can be killed without guilt. Not that you would have any guilt anyway, since there's no alignment system. Well, maybe if you have a high Compassion...in which case you're going to be used and abused to the point of psychosis before you ever reach the Horde and you'll need something to limit break all over with your Homocidal Mania of Compassion virtue flaw.
