The Little Big Book of Evil

Certain legends claim that the world will pass through seven ages. In the sixth age, the most evil of all books will be written by someone known only as 'Throckmorton' (or so his name appears on the title page of the Little Big Book of Evil). Its writing will bring about the final corruption of the world and plunge it into the seventh age, the Age of Apocalypse. This book is so evil that it projects backwards in time, casting shadows of itself across space and time, shadows which can bring great power but also corrupt all who read them.

In this age, it manifests as the Little Big Book of Evil. The Little Big Book of Evil appears at first glance to be a children's picture book; in this guise it hides from crusaders who would destroy it. Those who are open to its power, however, will find it adjusts itself to fit whatever literary tastes they have, presenting tales and advice which will heighten their appetite for power. As they become ensnared, it will teach them sorcery (if possible), and assist them in calling up and consorting with Demons and the You'll Sees. One of its favorite tricks is hypnotic crossword puzzles which require various atrocities to solve, but which call up powerful artifacts once completed. Another is the huge selection of evil Karaoke songs which it teaches to its readers, enabling them to corrupt those who listen to the karaoke routine, such as 'Broken Wings Crane', 'Satans of Swing', 'Grape Monkey', 'I Hate Everything', and 'I Used To Love Her, So I Had To Kill Her'.

The book often causes odd quirks of behavior in those who read it--shaving off all their body hair, drinking too much, dressing up in giant puppet costumes, etc. It seems to especially inspire a desire to kill insects.
