All the Exalted are empowered by the Incarna, but Lunars with this Charm are able to call upon Luna’s spark within them... and ascend to a form that is closer to her greatness. To do so, they become less human, and this causes their Tell to become more proeminent - a foothold on their former identity. A beings of chaos, power and majesty, the Ascension Form unmakes the Lunar in the power of Luna, and is always inhuman in some way. It is a True Form and a Hybrid Form, however, acting as one in all respects, including the increased visibility of the Lunar's Tell.

An Ascension Form must be keyed to a Virtue. Compassion, Conviction, Temperance or Valor, those primal Virtues rule this power as they do for Gods and the Wyld. The Virtue shows in the form, as a single Bear-Totem Lunar might create the shape of a mother bear of quicksilver that protects with Compassion, or an enraged red bear with terrible claws with Valor. They do not need to be tied to the Totem itself, however most of them leave a faint trace in the Ascension, at the very least. To Ascend, the Lunar must be in a position to channel the required Virtue, and takes a Shapeshifting Action, spending 1 willpower to channel the Virtue... and he transforms. Lunars may purchase this Charm a number of times equal to their Permanent Essence; Every time it is purchased, the Lunar receives a different shape, keyed to another virtue or to the same.

In the Ascension Form, the Lunar may freely channel their Virtue without the per-story limit on it by spending 1 willpower as usual. But more importantly, in this Form they receive (Essence+Virtue) Mutation Points to distribute among their powers. Those must be Mutations allowed and following the Guidelines for the Lunars' [[SilverMasks/Shapes|shapes]]. The Ascension Form may even have Mutations comparable to many Fair Folk Charms that can be made into such. The only limit is that Mutations that may be brought multiple times, such as Excellence, Might and Allure, may only be bought twice. As a True Form, all the Attribute bonuses from such Mutations counts as Natural. When the Lunar increases his Essence, he may rearrange his current stock of Mutations.

The Lunars may also create and buy Custom Mutations that reflect the sort of changes that can be created in the body of a Celestial Exalted; Those mutations are special and may only be purchased by Lunars who possess the Lunatic Ascension Charm, and not in any other way. The Lunar may also choose Taints, such as Deficiences and Debilities, to his Ascension Form, and those add their Mutation Point cost to the total of Mutations the Ascension may be built with.

With beauty and power, the Lunar shape her Form in something greater than even the Incarna, perfecting herself to the heights of the great Primordials. This Charm may be purchased up to two times. The first time this Charm is purchased, the Lunar doubles his Essence for the purpose of the Mutations in his Ascension Form. The second time this Charm is purchased, the Lunar doubles the Virtue for the purpose of the Mutations in his Ascension Form.

=== Ascension Mutations ===

* '''Affliction'''

** ''Majestic:'' The Lunar sculpts her form to be grand, with the majesty of a Lion, of a Dire Wolf, of a great butterfly. Through beauty or terror, it looks imposing. In Ascension form, the Lunar subtracts two dice from all stealth rolls, but adds two dice to all Presence rolls. All those who go against the Lunar must suceed in a Valor roll, or receive a penalty of +1 to all actions against the Lunar for a Scene.

* '''Blight'''

** ''Beautific'' The form takes on aspects from resplendant birds, majestic felines or beautiful insects. The Lunar adds her +4 dice to all Appearance-based rolls, and by spending 1 willpower those he tries to seduce or otherwise enthrall are forced to pass a Temperance roll or give in to the alluring creature, regardless of the result of the Lunar's social roll against them. This is incompatible with the fearsome.

** ''Fearsome'' The form takes on aspects of fearsome beasts, strange insects or just sheer destructive fury. Every movement, every inch of this Form is crafted to be a nightmare, a horror men will never forget. The Lunar adds +4 dice to all Intimidation attempts, and by spending 1 willpower along with such an attempt, the targets must roll their Valor, regardless of the result of the Lunar's roll. On a failure, they run away. On a botch, they acquire a Derangement linked to this event. This is incompatible with the Beautific.

** ''Soul-Fire Sculpture:'' The Lunar sculpts her form in precise and smooth angles, as a beautiful vessel for the power of a pattern. The Lunar chooses a Terrestrial or Celestial Martial Arts Style whose Form-Charm she knows; It becomes part of her form, as her Ascension is the perfect vessel for its movements. When she Ascends, she is instantly in the Martial Arts Form at no cost, and all Charms of this style suffer no penalty for being practiced in Hybrid Form and cost 1 less mote to activate. This counts as the Form for all Charms that depend on it, except for other Martial Arts Forms, who can be enacted atop of it; It is after all, the movements and motions inherent to the body, and the body can enact another kata.

* '''Abomination'''

** ''Blossom of the Perfected Lotus:'' The Lunar crafts this Form with the greatest care so its organic geomancy will better serve the needs to channel the soul-fire patterns of Martial Arts Styles. With this Mutation, the Lunar suffers no penalty for practicing Martial Arts Styles while in Hybrid Forms, and experiences the Blossom of the Perfected Lotus, becoming able to practice, learn and use Sidereal Martial Arts.

** ''Forged From Divine Steel:'' Same as the [[SilverMasks/Shapecraft|Tatoo]] Charm with the same name. It is, however, permanent, requiring no committed essence or sacrifice of Materials. The Lunar has simply internalized the Material.

With the great acceptance of his body, the Lunar is able to channel gifts in the Heart's Blood of the many beings she holds within her Exaltation. Those traits show his harmony with the creatures, and are rarely subtle. If one with a Tyrant Lizard totem gets the 'Sturdy' mutation, his muscles bulge, his demeanor becomes repilian, scales appear in his muscles. If he gets 'Huge', he becomes not only twice his height, but also scaled, with a reptilian face. Bought once, this Charm allows the Lunar to draw any Mutations from his Totem. Bought twice, it allows him to draw traits from any Natural Animal on his Library. Bought three times, the Lunar can draw any Mutation from his Blood Library, no matter how outlandish. With a Shapeshifting Action, the Lunar can commit 2 motes to draw 1 Mutation Point from any shape in her Blood Library into her other Forms, unfurling wings on her human form, drawing beaks on the form a wolf, or any other hybrids she can think of! The Mutation remains as long as the Lunar mantains the Essence committed. This Charm is a ''Gift'' and may be activated in when the Lunar shifts into a Hybrid Form. The Lunar may commit a number of motes to this Charm equal to his Permanent Essence and draw forth 1 Mutation Point with each.

Lunars can shift their shapes in many ways, but it takes time for their body to adapt to the new shape, turning his arms slowly into wings or his face into a beak when he becomes a bird... but those who master the Skin-Dancing Technique do it with the deft of a dancer, many steps too fast for the eye to see if it is not careful! Learning Skin-Dancing Technique makes Shapeshifting Actions become a mere unrolled dice action during the turn, which does not count as a Charm use.

More than simple dancers, Lunars who know Flowing Quicksilver Spirit learn how to make their shapes fluid, shifting with such grace and ease that it is hard to believe that there was something solid about their form... that it was just always fluid, unreal, like quicksilver. This Charm makes Shapeshifting Actions become reflexive actions which the Lunar can use anytime during a turn. He may not shapeshift more times in a single turn than he has dots of Wits, however.

There is effort required in Shapeshifting, as the Lunar forces his form to accept another pattern, to become something else. Even for those protean like the Lunars, there is some effort involved... but learning this Charm, they touch their shape with Luna’s love for all that is of Gaia, and make themselves accept other forms more easily. Learning this Charm, the Lunar halves the Blood Cost of his Forms for the purpose of all Shapeshifting Actions by half(rounded down, to a minimum of 0).

Lunars are in a great masquerade in the world. Constantly shifting their masks in this ball, carrying so many within their bodies. Some Lunars learn how to do so with ease, shifting such masks without any worry at all. With Silver Masks Mastery, the Blood Cost of the Lunar's shapes is reduced further, and become equal to their equivalent level of Blood Library that would take to have it as a Prize Form. Thus, forms up to 6 points cost only 1 mote, up to 8 points cost 2 motes, up to 10 poitns costs 3, up to 16 costs 4, up to 20 costs 5... and any form with a mutation point cost greater than 20 costs only 6 motes. In addition, the Lunar becomes able to sidestep the Truth of Luna under his masks, if not for long. The Lunar can change shape when her anima banner is showing on the 8+ level, as long as she does not remain in the same shape for longer than a turn.

With the great acceptance of his body, the Lunar is able to take one Heart's Blood, at least temporarily, by drinking at least a drop of it. The blood must be fresh, just out of the body. By drinking it, the Lunar receives the target’s Heart’s Blood and can shapeshift into her form for a full day and night. By drinking more – a Health Level’s worth of blood – the Lunar can remain in this shape until Luna changes her face, for a whole Lunar Phase.

Far to the East, the Grandmother Spider Ahrien of the No Moon Caste awaits for Lunar Champions to come, and when they come, she gives them an ordeal. When it is finished, she cuts them, lets them cut her, and as their blood mingles, they become one with her, and receive her Form. Those who learn this Charm learn the contract - by cutting each other, and willingly joining their blood upon Moonsilver, a Lunar may give a single shape he knows to another Lunar. This costs 1 experience point to learn, or 10 in the case of the  shapes of Primordial Behemoths and other great beings. A Lunar with this Charm who kills another of his kind and drinks their Heart’s Blood may pay a number of Experience Points equal to their Essence to absorb their shape, and all of the forms in their Blood Library.

The Lunar learns how to shift the size of one of her shapes closer to her human form. This is a reflexive action, with a reflexive expenditure of 2 motes per size mutation level negated during the Shapeshifting Action, be it to make greater beings smaller or small beings greater. The Lunar may shift the Mutation Points changed to elsewhere, as a Tyrant Lizard may receive two purchases of Glorious Hero Form even when it is human-sized to show its prowess. Changing his Shape away from the size-changed form ends this Charm, and the form will be on its normal size when the Lunar next dons it.

When pressed, a Lunar may cover a great ground without difficulty! Every 5 motes spent grant the Lunar a ''Stance''  that allows him to change the size of a form one level up or down, giving it the respective mutations(Small, Tiny and Minuscle to make things smaller, Large, Huge, Giant and Gargantua to make things bigger). The Lunar may not have more ''Stance'' active than half his Essence, rounded down, and thus, there is a limit to how small he may make large forms, or how much larger he can make even those. The form receives all the bonuses of the Mutation.

This is a rare Charm amidst the Lunar Exalted, and few ever bother with it. Upon learning it, the Lunar increases his shapeshifting, able to transform into any kind of plant he has consumed, from a bush of roses to a great tree. Being able to shift into plants works in the following ways...

* The Lunar may, from the purchase of this Charm onwards, flavor his shapeshifting with plants. From Tells that echo plants, in his shape, their perfume, or the like, to charms that create armor in the form of bark, grow flowers with boosts to appearance or thorns with natural weapons. Anything and everything is permissible in that way.

* The Lunar may not become anything smaller than a single bush - a single flower is too simple for a Lunar to turn into.

* The Lunar has to pay 1 experience point for every plant he learns to shapeshift into.

* Shapeshifting into a plant is the same as with any part of the Lunar's Blood Library.

* The Lunar may not move or act in the form of a plant, although he instantly roots into the earth if at all possible, even through cobblestones, and chooses where to move and how to appear as this plant. He will appear as the 'typical' size for one of those plants. This may be used as a stunt in a Strength+Athletics roll to break something with his roots.

* The Lunar may perceive his surrounds dimly - he must make a Perception+Awareness roll as a dice action to perceive anything around him. The difficulty of this roll is 3. One success above three allows the Lunar to perceive vague shadows and movement, three successes allows the Lunar to make out slight details of things closer to him, and five successes allow the Lunar a clear picture of the enviroment around him.

* The Lunar will most certainly receive the two extra successes to conceal his Tell from looking inconspicuous in the Form of a Plant. He may also receive even more successes - use the size modifers, Small, Tiny and Minuscule for the plants, and their bonus to Stealth Rolls - however, the Lunar always converts all of his attribute dice into automatic successes in stealth rolls if he becomes a plant among others of the same type, even if it is a great tree.

* Usually, size differences are enough to account for the statistics of the Lunar in those forms. Although Trees have, aside from the size differences, usually Sturdy and some manner of armor, more often than not.

'''Cost: ''' 10 motes, 1 willpower<br>

'''Duration: ''' Instant<br>

The Lunar is able to shift the age of the plants he turns into, making seasons go by with each breath, or recede in the same breath. The Lunar must be transforming into a plant-form or be already transformed to use this Charm. With a Stamina+Craft(Shapechange) roll, the Lunar may shift the apparent age of the plant he turns into by (Permanent Essence) years per success. The Lunar may grow the tree no more a hundred times his Essence in years, and may not become a bulb or a seed, only an infant plant. The modifiers to perceive the Lunar when smaller are the same as above. The Lunar may also channel Compassion while using this Charm to make fruit trees become full of fruit. He may even do this particular use of the Charm in other forms, sprouting his Appearance in Fruits from his body.

'''Leaping Trees Method'''<br>

'''Cost: ''' 3 motes<br>

'''Duration: ''' Instant<br>

'''Type: ''' Reflexive<br>

'''Minimum Stamina: ''' 4<br>

'''Minimum Essence: ''' 3<br>

'''Prerequisite Charms: ''' Wheel of Seasons Prana<br>

Pouring his Essence into it, the Lunar is able to move even things not built for it! Even in the form of a plant, the Luanr may move, attack, and do all things he possibly could before - be it as walking vines, uprooted , powerful trees, or any other sort! The Lunar can move with the plant normally in the turn this Charm is used, and converts his attribute dice in successes to his first action against a foe who's ignorant of the Lunar's plant status. The Lunar must continue to use this Charm every turn to keep the plant-form moving.
