Might as well make a seperate page on the Wiki for this.

This is where you get to discuss my revised stats list for Exalted weapons and armor. They are available in the zip file posted below.

I've made the list for a number of reasons. First of all people were complaining about the stats for some of the weapons. This includes the speed for some of the brawl weapons, damage for the Grimcleaver and Reaver Daiklave and other stuff. The second reason it to have a full system to make things for yourself that balance with the canon Exalted weapons and armor (the revised versions in the list that is).

The system is as generic as I could make it, giving 4 points per Resources or Artifact level for each type of weapon and armor. I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to give some feedback here.

PS: Please note, this is NOT a reference list of official stats. This is a system to recreate the official stats as best as possible and be able to build new things balanced to the official weapons and armor. Some people didn't seem to get that.

FAQ

Q: So what do you mean with: 'Rating is for the weapon only, without extra powers'?

A: The stats for the Artifacts put here are considered to be (just about) the maximum you can get for the Artifact level listed. You'll notice it almost always has a lower Artifact level than in the books. This means that any adding any additional powers will increase the level of the Artifact by one or even more, depending on how big the extra powers are. So adding the other powers listed in the books will means you'll get the official Artifact level of the complete thing.

Warstriders still have several negative affects that need to be added to these bare stats. So they could end up being the same level as I listed in this document or even lower.

Note that missing or lowered stats like the 100 yards of the Crimson Bow and the 2L damage of the Flying Silver Dream Daiklave can still be 'reclaimed' compared to the official stats as being part of the magical effects that still need to be added.

Q: I'm still missing a few things, what's up with that?

A: I do not own all book, so some stats may still be missing. Kingdom of Halta is amongst those, but I did manage to get Skycutter stats from the White Wolf Exalted forum.

Weapons and Artifacts from Ruins of Rathess were left out on purpose. I found out that the stats for those were way off from my calculations. With them having highly unusual technology I figured that it wouldn't be much of a problem anyway that they were left out.

Q: But what about firewands, grenades and cannons? You seem to have those books.

A: I did not add any Firedust related weapons. This is because Firedust is an external extra ingredient that can mess up the tight calculations of weapons creation.

Q: What's with the +, - and - -?

A: The reason I did that is to turn the 4-point system into a smooth system. Each 4 points represents a step up the ladder in Resources or Artifacts. But with the real life there is no such thing as powerlevel steps between certain items. So instead 4 point system represents the average for each level. The + means it's the very top of of that level while the - and -- mean that it is actually a bit cheaper than average.

Q: Okay, but why are there numbers other than 4, 8, 12, etc?

A: The reason is that I changed the numbers because of a Trait minimum and/or amount of motes that is different from the standard for the Resources or Artifact level.

Melee stats for Throwing weapons are an exception to the 4 point rule. This is because they are normally not used for that, and thus have inferior stats for Melee use.

Q: Is in-flight duplication of Thrown weapons compatible with Charms that do the same? A: I didn't mention that because I didn't want to overrule individual Storytellers on this. But I recommend not to do it.
