Foreword

My players. These guys. Whoo.

Our gaming group is pretty small, and consists of myself, Dear Husband, and Everpresent Roommate. Occasionally ER will run a game, but I'm traditionally the de facto ST. The guys get up to some pretty crazy hijinks at times. This time around, DH and ER are playing Lunars that have wound up in a vast, mostly unmolested Solar Sanctum, which the "owner" hasn't visited anytime recently, what with being dead and all. The Terrestrials have all but bred themselves out - there are about a dozen left amongst a population of several million. They're the first Lunars to exalt here in over a millennium. Through their inevitable explorations into this new "Creation" place, ER has come to a couple conclusions.

  • Solars are crazy.
  • Solars are dangerous.
  • Sidereals aren't bad, but are crazy dangerous, and can kill people with bridges.
  • The Sun is pretty useless, and is too busy puffing on the Celestial Hookah to do anything about said Solars or Sidereals.
  • Creation is so, so doomed.
  • So is our pocket if we can't fix it.
  • Lunars were created as the Also-rans of the Exalts, which is the definition of Uncool.

DH thinks the Solars are just dandy, if needing a little maintenance.

Each of the Lunars has set out to assist a Primordial, since they're fairly certain that's what it's going to take. DH has selected Autochthon, who has Titaniced their Iceberg. Due to their position in Creation (the door's in the Glittering Desert), they're sympathetic to both Elsewhere and his intended destination - where the Eye was last used.

ER has chosen... Ligier.

In my (current) campaign, Ligier is discontent. I've seen it posited (and whomever first came up with this idea, thank you - I yoinked it) that Ligier is Malfeas's self loathing. I figured if that were true, it might be possible that he is the last bastion within the screaming, tortured wreck of the Primordial King of his dignity, nobility, and leadership. This isn't to say he's a Good Guy - he still has an alien concept of "Nobility and Leadership" - but he's the only remaining part that is still, y'know... sane.

Thus, he wants out.

He's willing to offer an Oath: in exchange for a few favors and a safe spot in Creation while he completes his business, Ligier is willing to extend an Unfettered Endowment, an experimental version of the Akuma. He'll give ER the benefits of Akuma-ness, without the unrelenting yoke of slavery... if only ER will help him bust out.

ER, of course, jumps at this. He's already participated in a Hungry Widow hunt to increase his power, so why not? He even interfaces with the unwitting DH to get Ligier into Autochthonia, both to help with the rebuilding and to stave off a major assault by FAFL. He secures a spot for Ligier in the most hidden place he can find (a massive Fire demanse in the South, which he's located with the Lap utilizing his Hungry Widow bennies) and has even gotten Ligier into Yu-Shan for the big showdown with His Unconquered Stonedness using a spell binding cord. Long foreword short, what follows are the component souls I've come up with for the Green Sun. I haven't gotten much farther than Third Circle Deva, aside from naming a couple 2CD. Any commentary in Italic text is just that - themes and guidelines I used when creating them, not part of the actual description. These guys don't have stats, as they should be on par or greater than the Unquestionaable, but my headcanon supports them using modified Yozi charms with a mingling of Raksha charms and some effects based on other splats.

Commentary is welcome.

The Souls of Ligier

Fetich Soul- Lux, the Shining One, the Lord of All Light (Expressive Soul)

Embodiment of Ligier's sense of self. Motivation is to spread the perfect light of the green sun to all corners of Creation - and beyond. Appears as a man composed entirely of shifting prismatic light, of all colors and hues, although trending more toward greens. The light appears to flow, like magma or the liquid plasma of the green sun itself. Occasionally, a flare of vibrant blue plasma will float to the surface, as if in homage to his slain sister, Ruvelia. When he is not ensconced in the Primordial's world body, he walks the borders of Creation, his light crystallizing the edges and paving the way for expansion of reality and the consumption of the Wyld. His arrogance will not tolerate the formlessness that is the Unshaped, and those Raksha that come near him are utterly destroyed, their energies converted and incorporated into his proper, perfect form. While Lux has difficulty rationalizing the imperfection that is mortal life, it is enough for him, typically, that the overarching consciousness deems them a part of the Great Work and therefore a necessary component to be preserved. Lux is Ligier's indulgence in his prior incarnation - the Fetich-that-was, and his personality reflects this.

3rd Circle Kestera, Daylight, Sunlight (Warden Soul)

Kestera appears as a woman in the prime of her life - that moment when youth still lends its vigor but is equally tempered by age's experience. Her face is perfectly symmetrical, and although this might be considered beautiful, this is also tempered by its sameness. Her eyes are multifaceted emeralds and her hair is the red of grass fires ignited on sweltering summer days. She is intolerant of darkness, and will seek to burn it out wherever she might find it. She is especially intolerant of lies and secrecy, and the tongues of those prevaricating in her presence burn to ashes in their mouths. A masterful tactician and warrior, she is the deva responsible for the driving out of Five Days Darkness and the slaying of Calibration.

3rd Circle Svarog, the Anvil Ignition(Indulgent Soul)

Svarog appears as either a stag with a hide of brass and horns of bronze, or as a tall powerful man, barechested, whose gleaming skin always reflects the ruddy glow of firelight. His antlers in his stag form have an infinite number of points, each branching off into five parts until they are too fine to see. He is the expression of Ligier's love of creative acts, and as such is a consummate smith. Svarog is considered to be in possession of and using at any given moment the equivalent of craft charms of any given Exalt type, including those of the fey. He is as capable of working the five magical materials as he is adamant or gossamer, or more esoteric materials. The only craft charms he eschews are those of his dead brothers; while he is aware of and will use Infernal charms and will create helltech wonders upon occasion, he will not use necrotech or necrosurgery as this is an art of cannibalism and consumption rather than true creation.

2nd Circle Firelight

2nd Circle Lightning

3rd Circle Aberash Black Light (Messenger Soul)

With the fall of Sol Invictus, Ligier now governs heaven. As his light is perfect, he has no need of night. What sets him apart from his trapped bretheren, however, is his capacity to learn. In his role as Malfeas' self loathing and his last bastion of nobility, he could examine his rule from both within and without, introspection as a spectator. What he found was flaws from both sides. The Unconquered Sun's very existence created darkness, both literal and metaphysical. His light tolerated and created darkness, and by extension allowed both it and chaos a foothold in the Grand Design. However, it was the Exalted, mortal heroes championing in the cause of gods and humanity alike, that denied the Titans and engineered their eventual downfall. This posed a paradox. The light of Creation could not abide nor harbor darkness, but Theion's error appeared to be in his lack of regard for his subjects, who could not tolerate the unabated green light of his fetich without sickness and stagnancy. His solution was Aberash, his messenger soul.

Aberash functions as the concept of invisible light, specifically infrared and ultraviolet. He brings the stabilizing light of Ligier to the night as Kestera brings it to the day. He appears as blooms of soft, violet light that illuminate the darkness, and as a young man whose eyes, teeth, and soft white robes glow brilliantly white. As one of Liger's deva, his light still does not cast shadows. It also fills the spaces in between his blooms in a massive, interconnected web of invisible light. In this way, Creation is still supported whilst giving humanity a much needed respite from the overwhelming light of day.

3rd Circle: Saastal – The Icon, the Haloed Madonna (Wisdom Soul)

Essence is an integral part of Creation. Its ordered flows through Gaia's veins channel necessary energy to the functions of the Great Endeavor and vitality to its inhabitants. Its effects can be seen and felt. They are both subtle, like the warmth of a summer breeze or the blossoming of a single flower, and potent, like a volcanic eruption or the aggressive green explosion of spring. Exalts are models of this orderly design, self contained systems of Essence distribution, and their displays are just as discreet or profound. The Haloed Madonna manifests as a young woman with a seven pointed star emblazoned on her forehead, garbed in rich robes that have been bleached white. Essence appears to coalesce around her, shifting through the spectrum of light and color. She may activate the anima power of any type of Exalt, save the Abyssals, whose power Ligier prohibits, paying the necessary costs. It is said that whenever an Exalt flares totemic somewhere in Creation, elements of his iconic banner can be seen in the swirls of Essence surrounding Saastal. This makes for a truly potent display when groups of Exalts gather for mighty works. She is also his vehicle for Exaltation, acting as his representative when a Solar takes his second breath. As a manifestation of the concept of orderly flows of Essence, she is fond of artifacts and manses, as they channel raw Essence into a beneficial function.

3rd Circle Ferin - The Foxfire Natural and Chemical Light

2nd Circle Motyxia, the Creeping Glow Bioluminescence

3rd Circle Odonata, the Gilded One Reflected/Refracted Light

Work in progress. To do: Description of the overall consciousness, Jouten, 2CD and 1CD. Page that describes the campaign so this insanity makes a little sense.
